Raising the violin to his chin, he hears the first note resound around the spacious room. Then the second, then the third. It all comes out so fast, he falls to the ground, huffing and puffing. He couldn't do it...
The anxiety overwhelms you and you feel so stupid. Everything was ready, all you had to do was play the music. But you couldn't...not without Mari.
Opening your eyes, you're back in Whitespace. It's empty. Your laptop, tissue box and sketchbook isn't here. Neither is Mewo. A loose wire hangs from the ceiling, while Omori stares at it. He turns around abruptly to face you and you clench your fists. He readies his knife, while you hold your violin. It's time to face him.
Omori slashes at you wildly, chipping off a piece of the wood. You grab at his hair, just missing, while falling to the ground. He jumps at the chance and you close your eyes, ready for the hit, when you remember Kel's words
'Friends...Friends are supposed to be there for each other.'
Rolling over, his knife lands onto the ground just where you were a second ago. You quickly pick up the sharp blade from the ground, but he slams into your back, making it fly over to the other side.
'You've caused so much suffering, yet you do nothing. And so you've earned nothing in return,' The words spill out of his mouth and hit you like raining arrows.
That's not true.
Struggling to your feet, you scramble towards the knife, but Omori's quicker than you, grabbing it before you can get to the weapon. You close your eyes and steady your breathing, remembering Aubrey's wish.
'I hope you can find some peace...or you know...some happiness.'
Raising your violin, you whack the sturdy instrument over his head, making him stumble and fall. Gasping, he turns back at you with a strangely calm look in his eyes, and pushes the back of your knees, sending a strange feeling up through your legs. You flinch and collapse to the ground.
He pins you down, numbing your legs, 'Your friends will never forgive you. They'll abandon you like you did them...and that's what you deserve.'
That's. Not. True.
You bite down on your tongue, the sudden pain waking you up. Ignoring his words, you remember Hero's promise.
'Last time...we made the mistake of leaving each other when we needed each other the most. This time...we'll stay together.'
Grunting, you throw Omori off your back with all your remaining strength, and heave in exasperation. Pulling the knife away from his loosened hands, you slash at his legs, missing by an inch.
'You tell yourself that you don't want to burden others, but the truth is that you're selfish. You just don't want people to depend on you.'
THAT'S. NOT. TRUE.
Tears stream down your face as you swing around blindly, but no one is there. Something hits you in the stomach and you feel an unbearable pain. Breathing shakily, you remember Basil's hope.
'Maybe one day, things can go back to the way they were before.'
Clutching your tummy, you hold up the knife steady with a fierce look in your eyes. Omori approaches you slowly, using his tongue as a blade instead.
'You're nothing but a liar, and when they see the truth, they'll hate you as much as you hate yourself.'
THAT'S. NOT. TRUE!
Blinded by rage, sadness and a sinking pit in your stomach, you don't see Omori behind you, as he grabs your head and slams it against the ground. Exhausted, you try to get up, but your aching brain can't figure out how. Is this the end? Eyes flickering, you remember Mari's request
'You'll forgive yourself...won't you Sunny.'
Game over
'Do you want to continue?'
