"You need a boyfriend," was the first thing I heard as my friend entered my apartment.
"I'm fine without a boyfriend." I lied. I hadn't been fine being single. Ever since my last breakup I had been so hurt.
"You're not fine you're a mess," she responded.
"Well I'm happy with the way I am," I said before taking another spoonful of icecream in my mouth.
"Now if you don't mind I'm going to finish watching this movie in silence." I said before turning my attention back to the drama that was playing.
I heard my friend sigh in the background, "I'm setting you up on a date."
I rolled my eyes and ignored her. She would never think about setting me up on a date.

"I can't believe you," I growled at my friend.
She laughed at me, "I told you I was setting you up on a date."
"I didn't think you'd actually do it. You do remember the last time I was on a blind date, right?" I questioned. "Remember my ex and how he cheated on me. This blind date can only end in disaster."
"Just shutup and put this dress on." Ignoring me completely she handed me a black dress. I looked at it, it was actually a nice dress and would look good on me.
"I'm only doing this to be a good friend," I grumbled going into my bathroom to put on the dress. Once the dress was on I stared at myself in the mirror. The dress looked amazing on me, my friend had definitely picked the right dress that complimented my body.
Walking out of the bathroom my friend looked up from her phone. "Damn girl you look good." She grinned. "There is no way you're not going to have fun tonight." I rolled my eyes at her silliness.
"Yeah, whatever. I just want to get this over with." I sighed completely bummed out that I wasn't going to be able to indulge myself in ice cream and watch sad movies. I cringed at the thought that actually sounded like a terrible idea. Maybe it was time for me to get out again.

"He's wearing a red rose and is in the back. Don't forget to have fun," My friend winked dropping me off in front of the restaurant. I sighed watching her pull off. I debated whether or not I should go home or actually go in.
I decided on the latter and walked into the restaurant.
"Hello, welcome to Iris. Table for one?" The hostess asked as soon as I entered the restaurant.
"I'm actually looking for someone," I smiled politely at her. She smiled back at me and left me to find the person I was looking for.
I looked around the restaurant for a guy wearing a red rose. I bit on my lip not seeing anyone with a red rose. Had he stood me up? I sighed in defeat feeling embarrassed that people were staring at me and wondering why I was standing in the middle of the restaurant.
"Kaitessa?" Someone asked from behind me. I turned around to see a man with a red rose clipped onto his suit.
"Y-yeah that's me." I muttered after awhile of gaping at this guy. He chuckled at me and I realized how awkward I was being.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled not making eye contact and looking at the floor.
"Excuse me you guys are blocking the walkway," a waiter behind us spoke.
"Oh shoot sorry." My date for the night spoke. He placed his hand on my lower back, making my insides burst with excitement, while leading me to the booth in the corner.
