Chapter Six
I saw the light stream through my bedroom window as the window was left wide open from Emily probably in here during the early hours of this morning. I sat up and realised that it was too fast and led back down with my head all over the place. I grasped my forehead and shut my eyes, hoping that it’ll go away some time soon. Once the dizziness and slight pain had passed, I sat up to then be frightened by Katherine sat in the lounge chair that she had been sat on the other morning as well.
“You frightened me. Again, you’ve got to stop doing that,” I groaned in angst.
“I’d say I’m sorry, but you’ll get used to it,”
“Oh just one of the joys of having you as a ‘sister’,” I smiled back sarcastically.
“Nobody likes a smartass Lily, but I see that Damon found quite a liking to you… Smartass or not,” she commented.
“For the last time, he doesn’t have any interest in me; I practically made sure of it,” I replied.
She shrugged and got out of her comfortable sitting position and walked over to my dresser, which had gained something new. A big bouquet of flowers now sat in a vase on top of my dresser, all different colours of flowers spurting out of the vase.
“Well do you want to send him the memo again? Because I don’t think he got it,” she smirked, picking up the little card that came with the bunch of flowers as she waved it around a little.
“Please tell me they got sent to the wrong room…” I clenched.
“No, actually it turns out that Damon has quite an exquisite taste,” she said through reading the little card.
I threw the covers off of my body and swung my legs over the side of the bed to get out, and rushed over to where Katherine was stood to snatch the card out of her hand in time before she read through the whole thing. I flipped it over to see that it was beautifully written and that it was indeed from Damon, it read;
My Dearest Lily,
I know that the departure of our lasting meeting was, passionate yet unpleasant. I would love for you to meet me down by the lake at precisely one o’clock, and don’t ask beforehand. It’s a secret.
Sincerely,
Damon.
Oh no.
“Oh dear, trouble in paradise?” Katherine smirked again.
“Don’t you have a guy to go and eat or whatever you do with Stefan,” I snapped back at her.
“Feisty one, you could survive this lie as my sister,”
“Thank-you?” I wasn’t sure if it was a compliment or an insult to that she didn’t think I could survive?
“And for your information, Stefan is just another play thing of mine,”
“Are your sure about that?”
“Our relationship is strictly a need to know basis,”
“Well do you want to send him the memo again? Because I don’t think he got it,” I used her line against her, she gave me a scowl and I just smiled back devilishly.
“Fair play Lily, I’ll just go and make sure he got the message,” she smiled evilly at me once more before she took off out the door.
I need to get out of this room before the walls start to prove how thin they really are. I walked over to my wardrobe, stretching as I went; trying to figure out what to wear for today’s little ‘outing’. I flicked through all of the dresses, all of them of which I didn’t have any memory of owning, past life and present.
