i woke up and felt good. i don't even know why tho. maybe because i met some people and they asked for my number? probably.

i felt kinda sad to know that my friends were 3 hours away from me. but i could always see them one day to surprise them. that thought gave me energy as i got up and walked in my bathroom.
i had dark circles under my eyes. pimples on my face. my skin looked dry. i really need to take care of my skin more i thought.
my only skin care i did was a bar soap in the shower and a moisturizer form dollar tree. it probably burned my skin but i didn't have time to care about that.
as i was observing my face in the mirror my phone buzzed. i took it in my hand and clicked on the new message i got.

i was getting really excited at the thought of sasha and connie coming to my house and meet my parents. but i also felt nervous. what if they don't like me at the end? what if my mom says something embarrassing in front of them? shit i got to go tell my mom.
i ran down the stairs like there was no tomorrow. my mom was sitting on the couch cuddled up in some blankets. "oh hi hon' how are you?"she ask.
"i'm doing great actually. i just wanted to let you know that my new friends are coming over at 12" i said going into my new kitchen taking the cereal box left unopened on the counter.
"WHAT?" she basically screamed in excitement.
"stop yelling please mom geez" i said nonchalantly. i grabbed a bowl and a spoon in a cardboard box.
"you didn't tell me you met new people yesterday?" she responded in a questioning tone.
"yeah i met them at the park when i left"i spoke.
"that's great and ok they can come"she said leaving me by myself in the kitchen.
i left the kitchen and went into my room with my bowl of cereal. after eating the delicious cereals i got ready. normally with my friends i would never really dress up or put on makeup but since they were new i wanted to make a good impression.
i picked an outfit in my unpacked boxes. i chose brown baggy carpenter pants, with a green sun shirt, if i needed to go outside i picked my red jordan and some gold jewelry.

i took a picture in my body mirror that was on my door. it was already 11:23 and i still needed to put some makeup on and do my skincare.
i went to my bathroom and started brushing my knotted hair. it took approximately 4 minutes or something? i then brushed my teeth and cleaned my face with some lukewarm water before putting my cheap moisturizer topping it off with my unbranded sunscreen. i out on some light concealer on my eye bags and my pimples to not look gross. and some mascara finishing off with some pinkish lip gloss.
WOW i thought. i looked so hot. like i always found myself good looking but today i really put some effort on my face. normally i would be confident without makeup. but since i broke up with him. there was no one to make me feel loved. confident. important. powerful.
ok i need to stop overthinking. i checked my phone. 11:58. oh i'm sure they will be here soo- DING DONG. "welp" i said.
before i could even get out of my room i heard the front door open. my mom.
"HI GUYS!!" my mom said excitedly.
"hello miss.." sasha announced
"you can call me Marissa" she said happily
"ok Marissa" Sasha said looking at my mom smiling then noticing me
"oh hi y/n" she said making eye contact with me. "connie should be here in any minute"
"okay you can take your shoes off you know?" you asked
"oh yeah sure" she said entering in the house
"GIRLS WAIT FOR ME" connie shouted outside before your mom could close the door.
"y/n who's this?"mom asked me
