~Chapter 7~

Once Luke and I get to the table I instantly look at Matt and see that he's looking down at his food not paying attention to what Nash was talking to him about..

"Hey Matt," I smile hoping he would look up and say something or even smile but nothing happened besides him getting up and walking to the bathroom throwing away his try on the way.

"Anna, what's up with Matt," I question.

"I have no clue. He must be mad about something," Anna says knowing that I'm going to say something back to her that isn't very nice.

"No shit Anna. Thanks for the not so great help," I roll my eyes catching her laughing and shaking her head.

"I love youuuuu!!!!!!" Anna yells catching a couple glances from around the lunch room.

"I love you tooooooo!!!!!!" Nash yells back before clamping both of his large hand over his mouth realizing what just happened. My wide eyes catch a glimpse of Anna and see her blush and look down Nash doing the same.

I smile to myself before whispering into Luke's ear, "they would make a cute couple. Nash Grier and Anna Grier. Sounds perfect,"

"OOOOOOOO I can see that!" he whisper/yells in my ear, which earns a playful smack to the arm and me laughing. "What'd you do that for?" he asks making me laugh again, him joining in this time.

I spot Matt talking to Melody (the school slut) and shes laughing along with him touching his arm as he puts his hand on her hip. I feel my heart drop to the pit of my stomach and instantly want to cry.

"Vanessa? Are you okay?" Luke questions concern written all over his face before he turns around and catches what im looking at. "I'm guessing you guys have a little thing going o-" he gets cut off by me gasping an whipping his head in Matt's an Melody direction noticing what I gasped about.

There I sit watching Matt, the guy I thought I had a thing with, and Melody, my ex- best friend before she turned on me and started drama and pushed me aside for guys, KISSING. Basically the whole cafeteria was looking at them and whipping their head to me every second.

"Vanessa, I'm so so-" Anna tries to apologies but i stop her.

"Don't be. He didn't like what I was putting out and that's that. Plus your not the one kissing her so you have nothing to apologies about," I put on a fake smile before getting up and throwing away my trash as everyone's eyes follow me. I guess this is what happens when you get close to a guy and everyone knows not to mess with either person 'cause they are basically taken but not officially. This is the price I get to pay for falling for Matthew Espinosa. Attention that I don't want. Yay me!

As I speed walk to the bathroom I catch people whispering about me but one conversation caught my attention making me stop in my tracks. ' I feel bad for her but Melody is prettier than her and Matt's popular so they should be together' 'Yeah, you've got a point. I hope they are happy together'.

By now the whole cafeteria was looking at me, including the two that were sucking faces a minute ago.

I leaned down and whisper, so only the two could here "Thanks. You just made my decision ALOT easier," I see them look at each other probably thinking that I'm going to self harm and commit suicide. But i have a better idea.

I walk back to the lunch table wanting two people. "Luke and Anna, can you guys come over later? I need your guys' help with some things.

"Yeah I was gonna ask if you wanted to hang anyways," Luke says making me smile a little.

"I'd be happy to help Ness," Anna smile which makes my smile grow bigger.

"Awesome," was all that came out of my mouth before the bell rand signalling that lunch has ended.

"Ready Luke?" Luke nods and we walk with Luke's arm around my shoulder as we walk to 4th period.

We were finally out of this h*ll whole and I felt more confident about  whats about to happen.

I text my mom telling her that Luke and Anna were coming over and she said okay so we are just going to ride in Luke's really nice white range rover. I sat in the front seat flipping through the radio as Anna and Luke argue about some anime t.v show. I'm not a fan of anime so the radio is what I'm interested in right now.

"Anna!!! NOOOOOOOOO I-" Luke screams.

"WE'RE HERE!!!!!!!!!" I scream as Luke stops at my too big of a house.

"This is your place?" Luke and Anna say at the same time which make me laugh and get out of the car walking up the drive way with Luke and Anna trailing behind me.

"Yup. Its a little much for just the 3 of us but my parents insisted on a big house. They say they get paid enough I guess," I shrug before opening the door and yelling to my mom that I was home. If your wondering my mom is working from home since she is 8 months pregnant. I probably should have mentioned that before but oh well.

"You guys want a tour?" I ask stalling so I can have more time to think about what exactly I'm going to say to them. They both nodded their heads ,pretty quickly my I add. I laugh and start with the tour.

"First there is the music room," I point to it and walk in and wait for them to stop looking around. "Them there's the pool," I point as they gasp and smile both mumbling that they are coming over more. "Here is my parents room," I let them peek in and say a quick 'hi' to my mom. "And here is my room. There are more rooms but i don't want to get into that," I finish and plop down on my bed with them laying down on either side of me also.

"So I just wanted to tell you guys that I'm not going to be in school for a good month or two for reasons I ant explain," I didn't really want to get into the whole thing about how my dad is dying from cancer because I knew I would end up crying. "I actually think I can tell you guys," I breath in and out letting a tear slip out before i could even say a word. "So uhm.. My dad was diagnosed with cancer a few years back and he beat it gladly. But it seems to have come back and this time my dad is to weak to fight it back," I break down and just let all of the tears go.

"Vae you don't have to keep going if you don't want to. Its okay," Luke shushes me as I let out a kind of loud sob.

"I want to get this off my chest though," I breath in and out again calming down a little before speaking again. "As I was saying. My dad is to weak and can't fight back. He's in the hospital, but it is in Miami and he can't leave until it is all clear and gone or he passes away. So my mom and I are flying out there and staying there as long as we need. I'm sorry I didn't tell you," I said to Anna because I just met Luke today and couldn't really tell him anyways. "I just wanted to tell you guys this now 'cause I'm leaving tonight and wont see you guys for a while," I finish crying and talk to Anna and Luke some more before they had to go home.I said my goodbye and told them to tel everybody else I loved them and i'd see them....... soon.

I have finally finished packing and am now helping my mom load all of the stuff into the car before we both hop in and head to the airport.

"I'm scared to see him go mommy," I break down crying blocking out every sound in the world, even my mom.

I soon cry myself to sleep thinking about my dad and accidentally letting Matt slip into my mind as soon as i closed my eyes.
