When the girls returned back to their homes they felt like they had failed themselves. Emma was the saddest of them all. She had dreamt of a world where everybody was happy without being equal. People could stay what they think and not get judged by their opinion. Police wouldn't have to patrol everywhere and would only be used if somebody is breaking the less strict law. It seemed like a perfect world. The Lord will be a normal citizen and thrown in jail np because of his bad doings. It seemed like heaven. That made her think that was heaven under dictatorship? Who would be the river there? Would it be better? Do people do what they please? Still having a world of riot after death wasn't what Emma wanted. She was up all night thinking about a better world.
That morning Emma was still daydreaming that she forgot to put up her hair. Emma's mother was a big supporter of the dictatorship and agreed with it. She had invited the Lord over to dinner on many occasions but kept Emma out of the way because the Lord hates the youth of 'His' land.
"Emma! What do you think you're doing!" Emma's mother shrieked.
"What do you mean mother?" Emma said confused.
"Your hair! It's disgraceful! You have slept with it up your whole life and have not paid for your right to have it down to sleep! I spent all these years raising you well to get this! GET OUT OF MY LIFE"Emma was sitting alone outside with her hair which was now up. She felt like she had let down her friends. When she met them at the park that day she didn't talk much. It came to Stephanie's attention.
"What's up, Emma?" she asked.
"I'm going to have to go to the Prison for Misbehaved youth." Emma replied.
"The prison! But why?" Tia exclaimed.
"I forgot to put my hair up this morning and my Mum shouted at me and called the police." Emma said.
"Wow! My Mum would ground me but not call the police on me. Well your mother does look up to the Lord." Tia said.
"We still have ours down. We should've told you our plan." said Stephanie.
"What plan?" Emma demanded.
"Well we bought wigs. And all wigs are done up in ponytails." Tia said.
"I'm so glad you told me that now! It totally wouldn't of changed my whole day and life!" said Emma sarcastically.
"Sorry." mumbled Stephanie. That night at 5:00 Emma's mother drove Emma to the prison. Even though she was furious with her daughter disobeying the Lord Emma's mother which was called Elizabeth was almost tearing up when she had to wave goodbye to Emma.
2 weeks later
Emma sat alone in her cell. The prison was pretty much deserted except for a few other kids. The police officer who was patrolling the prison was called Police Officer Steel. He had a grim expression and wore the usual bland police uniform. He had his hair in a bowl cut like everybody else. He would give filthy looks to all the children which made them feel very uncomfortable. When he was away eating or giving an update on the children Emma would talk to the girl in the cell beside her. Her name was Helen. She had strawberry blonde hair done up in the usual, boring ponytail. She had a lovely nose and the most gorgeous green eyes. They glistened in the small Rays of sun that come through the old, dirty windows. She got put into the prison because she said that she didn't think that Daniele Bellflower was a very good politician. Emma enjoyed her company and loved her a lot as a friend but she would never be anything like Tia and Stephanie. That morning Police Officer Steel was giving an important announcement.
"Today we will be leaving the Prison for Disobedient Children to go celebrate the Lord's new girlfriend. As most of you may and should know, our current Lord has never had a girlfriend. You may see your friends and interact with people such as your parents but return to the prison after the celebration. The whole land is coming so please act your best or you will get out in the chamber for the night. We will be leaving at 10:15 sharp so we can get there before 10:30 which is when the celebration starts."
Emma was so excited to be able to see her friends again. She had longed to see her for the painful 2 weeks she had spent in the prison. It was time! The children had their cells unlocked and got let out. The fresh air splashed them in the face. Emma took in as much as she could. They walked toward a big stage where a bunch of people were gathered in front of. When she got there Emma was roaming around the crowd looking for her friends. Then a familiar voice came from in front of her.
"EMMA!" It called. She went towards the voice. It was Tia and Stephanie. They had a long group hug. Emma was crying in happiness.
"So do you know who the Lord's girlfriend is?" Emma asked.
"Nobody does unfortunately but your mother has had him over to dinner every 2nd night." Tia said. The girls kept chatting until a man with a microphone walked onto the stage.
"Hello everyone! I expect that you're all having a great day?" he said.
"YES!" chorused the crowd of people.
"Well that's lovely. Now you probably know why you are here but I'm still required to tell you because I'm an announcer. We are here to find out who the Lord's girlfriend is and celebrate his great achievement. Introducing the Lord himself and his beautiful girlfriend, Elizabeth!"
The crowd cheered and screamed as the Lord walked onto the stage arm in arm with Emma's mother. Emma froze. In front of her was her very own mother with the Lord. The Lord's girlfriend was HER mother. Emma's jaw dropped.
"It's...it's your. Yyyyy..YOUR MOTHER!" stuttered Stephanie. Emma's father had passed away when she was 2 and her mother had always been looking for a new special someone but THE LORD! If they got married she would technically be the Lord's step daughter. Her mother was looking beautiful with a dashing red dress that matched with the Rose flower crown she was wearing. Her dark brown locks were still done up. The Lord was wearing a fancy suit with his brown hair in a pompadour. Emma never could imagine her mother looking that beautiful. Emma had a great imagination but seeing her mother as beautiful was past the limits of her imagination. But yet here was her mother making every woman jealous by her looks.
