Marylin's life became complete once again. Mr and Mrs McCall treated her the same way they would treat their own child. Mr and Mrs McCall were extremely happy about this because they had been married for some years without a child and now, one came to them. They loved and cherished her like she was their own child. However, Marylin understood that her actions could affect how they felt about her so she tried her best to keep the love they had for her.
Things continued to go well until about three years after Marylin was taken in by the principal and her husband. Mrs McCall became pregnant and had shifted almost all her attention to her unborn child. Marylin became more of a house maid than a daughter. She did all the house chores and other errands. Mr.McCall wasn't any different. He also shifted his attention to his wife and unborn child. He hardly had time for marylin. They paid little attention to her. She was almost always sad as a result of this treatment. She tried her best to change it a little but all was to no avail. "Well, I guess they are just over excited that they'll be having a baby soon. I'll just bear it for the time it'll last. It won't last forever." Marylin resolved in her heart. So she continued to bear it all.
Months later, Mrs McCall delivered a baby girl. She was so in love with the baby plus the fact that it was a girl. She named her Mirabel. She felt like the happiest woman on earth at that moment. Marylin was happy for her principal. She was also happy that she's got someone to call a sister. Marylin believed that Mr and Mrs McCall would feel the same way about it too but no, that wasn't the case. Mrs McCall didn't like the idea one bit. Mr.McCall was a bit better, he was glad that Marylin would have a playmate.
Time passed by and the baby grew older by day. Mrs McCall did all in her power to keep her child away from Marylin. She didn't hide it, it was way too obvious. This kept Marylin thinking."What could have possibly changed Mrs McCall's mind?" Marylin kept thinking constantly. Most times she gets lost in thought that she wouldn't hear when her name is being echoed. It was as disturbing as that.

*Few years later*

Mirabel was already five years old. She was as bright and beautiful as Marylin. One Saturday morning, Marylin heard the doorbell and went to open the door. It was the principal's friend. Her name was Shontelle. "Have your seat ma'am." Marylin said to Shontelle. "What would you like?" Marylin asked. "Just a cup of water will do." Shontelle answered. "Alright ma'am. Just a sec." Marylin said and went in to get the cup of water for Shontelle. "Here it is ma'am." Marylin said and handed it to her. All those while, Mirabel had been playing with her stuffed teddy. "Little sis, go get mom, tell her she has a visitor." Marylin said to Mirabel. "Point of correction, you're not my sister and it's your duty to call my mom when she has a visitor. So, do what you're supposed to do." Mirabel said rudely. Marylin was hurt badly. She went in to call Mrs McCall and afterwards went to her room and burst into tears.
