I love you will still sound the same

The engagement celebration had moved out to the courtyard. Félix picked out a record and cranked up the phonograph while Agustín and Pepa took the little ones up to the nursery. The song that started playing was fast and fun. The upbeat tempo found its way into my hips as I danced in place. I tilted my head down with a giggle and looked back up through my lashes at Bruno. He chuckled and took my hand in his, spinning me in place and pulling me in against his body. My back was pressed against his chest as his face grinned at me from over my shoulder. His hips moved in time with mine, and the arm around my waist gave me a light squeeze. He spun me back out and watched as my skirt fanned out from my hips. When I came to a stop, he placed his hand against my waist, his hips and shoulders moving with the beat as he pulled me close again. We laughed as we danced on cloud nine. I could see that Agustín and Pepa had rejoined the festivities and were dancing with their spouses. Laughter filled the air with the music as the moon made its way across the sky.

By the end of the night, Agustín had started choosing the music and picked something on the slower side. My legs were grateful for the change of pace, but I didn't want to go sit down just yet. I wanted to stay in the arms of my love just a little longer. I had my head resting against his shoulder as we swayed in an embrace to the gentle notes. I felt his thumb brush back and forth in idle wonder over my lower back. "¿Qué estás pensando?" I asked quietly.

"There is so much to get ready for. We need to find someone to make your dress. You are immensely talented, mí amor, but if you think I'm going to let you make your dress..." I lifted my head to look at Bruno with a small smile. "A-and then there will be booking a time at the church. You may need to do that one. Father Nicholas doesn't talk to me much after the thing about his hair. And-" I put my finger up to press against his lips. He quieted and looked at me.

"And here I thought I was the one that was supposed to be getting stressed over the planning." He smiled behind my fingertip. "Relax. Besides, as you said, we will have till the sands of time stop. I think we can take our time on planning the wedding." Playfully, Bruno grabbed the tip of my finger with his lips with a little 'nom' sound. I laughed, and he pulled back before asking.

"Would you rather have a longer engagement, then?" He was smiling, but something in his eyes said that he was worried.

"If it means less stress to get everything put together, then yes." I kissed the tip of his nose. That answer didn't seem to calm the look in his eyes. "You don't think I'm trying to stall, do you?"

"The thought did cross my mind..." He looked at me sheepishly.

"Well, it didn't cross mine." I pressed my lips against his and felt him melt into my kiss.

The song came to an end, and we realized how late it was getting. Agustín and Julieta were shepparding their sleepy daughters up to their rooms while a passed-out Dolores was being carried up to her's by her father. Alma had already gone up to her room by this time.

"Let's get you home, querida." Bruno placed another soft kiss on my lips and moved over to the bench to grab my bag for me. I slipped the strap over my shoulder and tucked my arm into his. Casita waved us off as we made our way down the walkway into town.

As we walked, a curious thought crossed my mind. "Bruno?"

"¿Sí, mí Vida?" He looked over at me with those wonderful hazel pools of his.

"I know you don't normally like talking about your visions, but I have to ask." I saw his features start to crease with worry so I quickly got to my point. "What is the strangest vision you have ever gotten?" He blinked for a moment as he raised his eyebrows.
