Akshara's eyes filled with tears as she saw Abhimanyu's desperation and disappointment between the closing gate doors. She looked at Bade Papa's unwavering form filled with anger before returning her gaze to the love of her life.

In a moment, her mind buzzed with every past memory of him being insulted by her family and yet he never gave up, never stopped loving her.  After being knocked down, insulted and even thrown out of her house, he always got right back up and continued to fight for their love. She remembered every time he spoke up for her, be it in front of his family, hers or in front of nameless strangers.

Itna pyar kaise kar lete ho tum Abhi? Aur kyun? Main iss pyar ke layak hi nahi hu...jitna tumne mera saath diya hai, main kabhi kar hi nahi payi...

Right before the gate closed, Abhi smiled sadly and blinked reassuringly at her. He raised his hands to form his signature heart greeting and stood, his gaze on hers, til the very last second.

"Nahi!" Akshara whispered as the gate finally shut closed causing a jolt in her heart.

"ABHI!" She yelled for him and broke into a sprint past Bade Papa, ignoring her family's calls.

Reaching the gate, she pushed it open with all her strength and froze seeing Abhimanyu standing exactly as she had last seen him. As tears made their way down her face, she jumped into his arms.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry Abhi!" Stepping back, she looked into his eyes and tightly held his jacket in her hands.

"Haar baar meri wajah se tumhare saath aisa hota hai aur main bas chup chap dekthi hu. Tum mere liye sab se ladh jate ho aur main muh tak nahi kholti...I'm sorry!" Akshara cried and apologized over and over.

"Shh...bas Akshu! Main samajh sakta hu yeh sab asan nahi hai lekin tumhari aasuon se zyada taklif mujhe kuch nahi deta samhji? Ab rona band karo! Maina kaha tha na hum dono milkar sab thik kar denge." Abhi calmed her down and wiped her tears away.

"Sahi kaha tumne. Hum saath milkar sab thik kar denge." She said putting emphasis on "saath". With determined eyes, she held Abhimanyu's hand tightly.

"Aaj tak haar kadam tumne liya hai...aaj main lungi!" She said looking him straight in the eyes. Akshara then, turned around and crossed the gate, pulling Abhimanyu past the threshold with her. Reaching her family, she stood in front of Bade Papa still holding Abhimanyu's hand.

Manish stared angrily at Akshara and their joined hands before lifting his to silence the rest of the family.

"Yeh kya hai Akshara?" He asked sternly.

Akshara squeezed Abhimanyu's hand before letting go. She took another step towards an angry Bade Papa and held her ears.

"Bade Papa, aaj tak maine bahot galatiyaan ki hai...un saari galtiyon ke liye main kaan pakar kar aapse maafi mangti hu...lekin Abhimanyu se pyar karna meri galti nahi, meri khush kismati hai..." she reached out and held Bade Papa's arm.

"Bachon se galti toh ho hi jaati hai Bade Papa lekin aap meri galti ki itni badi saza nahi de sakte mujhe. Apko pata bhi hai aap mujhe kis se door rehne ke liye keh rahe hai?" She looked back at Abhimanyu's concerned face and smiled softly before looking back at Bade Papa.

"Bade Papa, apko yaad hai aap Papa ki kahaniyaan sunaya karte te...ki jab main chalna seekh rahi thi toh Papa kitna zyada darr jate the? Apne kaha ke Papa pura din mere aas paas hi rehte the taki mere ghirne se pehle woh mujhe tham le...aur bhool se bhi agar mujhe chot lagti ti toh sabko kitna dante the?" Akshara recounted and noticed Manish getting emotional as well.
