If you ever saw something that you were sure you imagined or heard a sound that no one else did - then you know what it's like to attend a show starring the Novaks.
"A magical act so spectacular, it had to be real."
An oh so common statement after...

The clock struck midnight just as Meatball blew on his steaming hot cup of coffee. He nodded his head in fascination at the story he was hearing. "And it's still broken?"
"Still broken," Josef replied.
Grandpa Novak scoffed. "Broken? It's shattered to pieces. The worst part, not feeling unordinary is feeling... ordinary."
"We'll get it back, dad," Josef said.
Meatball sat with the entire Novak clan. He needed coffee to stay awake after his long drive. His journey started all the way back when Kora first reached out to The Chain for help. All he knew was that he was coming to help a witch and a family of sorcerers, but he had never come across a set of circumstances quite like this.
"That's why you were all outside?" Meatball asked. "To find this ancient library and get your magic back?"
"That's right," Josef replied.
A loud clanking interrupted the conversation. It was Anna, dropping a stack of dishes into the sink and walking away. Josef knew that clanking had nothing to do with the dishes.
"Well, that's perfect," Meatball said as he scooped up the remaining dishes on the table. He walked over to the sink and washed the few plates in there. "It's perfect because I move things."
Grandpa Novak gave Josef a nudge and a nod toward Meatball, in a seems like a nice guy sort of way.
"What do you mean, you move things?" Josef asked.
As this conversation went on, the rest of the Novak family carefully listened. All for different reasons. Maria wondered why this portly man was there in the first place. Henry wondered how long they'd be stuck at the Masschester farm. Anna wondered something similar, but stuck isn't the word she would have used. And then June. She had many reasons why she intently listened.
"Well, as I said, The Chain helps the unseen in any way we can," Meatball explained as he took a seat back at the kitchen table. "There are four primary jobs in the network. I am a Mover. We help the unseen move from point A to point B. We are expected to be stealthy and not alarming. Might be why I was given the job. I get the impression, I don't strike fear in too many. Or draw much attention in general."
Grandpa Novak leaned in closer to Meatball. "I always wondered, what is in it for you guys? All goodwill, I suppose?"
"For some, maybe." Meatball made a money gesture with his hands. "For most, it's the payments."
"And what is in it for the people who pay you?" Grandpa Novak asked.
"That, I am unsure of," Meatball replied.
Maria approached the kitchen table. "So you move the unseen when they are after us?"
