Farewell Beacon

3:08 PM, Beacon Vault

Emiya sat there alone, with the exception of the current Fall Maiden, Amber. The vault was absolutely silent, even though right above it was an unbelievably busy academy. Looks like Ozpin put a lot of effort into isolating this area from sound. Though, occasionally, he felt the ground shake, but he had no real way of knowing what was happening up there since he'd been ordered to keep the Fall Maiden safe.

Besides, even if the vault got attacked, Kiritsugu couldn't do much anymore. Even using the lowest form of Time Alter for too long would destroy his tendons and break his bones. Avalon was a big help, but with it gone, coupled with the curse the Holy Grail had placed on him, he had been limited far more. He hoped to atone for some of his sins by giving perhaps what can be a future "hero of justice" the one tool that would prevent her death.

The vault occasionally echoed with the sound of his coughs. The silence was suddenly broken by  three people rushing in, it was the headmaster, the one he gave Avalon to, and... some blonde guy. Jaune Arc. 

"You! Be wary, someone might follow us. Guard the machine." Ozpin commanded. Emiya stood up, pulling out the Contender.

"What's happening up there?" He asked.

"Hell." Ozpin responded.

Nikos stepped inside one of the pods, with the other one filled by a sickly Fall Maiden. Ozpin turned the machine on, causing immense pain to Pyrrha. Ozpin and Emiya both didn't even flinch one bit to Pyrrha's blood curdling screams, they both had heard far worse. Avalon would help you heal, but it was never supposed to remove pain all together. But Jaune wasn't used to this at all, looking at her with a horrified expression.

Both Emiya's and Jaune's eyes widen as they heard the cursed sentence. "I'm... so sorry." Let out Ozpin. Emiya suddenly saw an unknown figure in the dimly lit room, having a bow drawn. Not hesitating one bit, he shot the Contender at her, the sound of which alerted both Jaune and Ozpin, but she had already fired the arrow. Emiya was quick to react.

"Time Alter - Double Accel." He looked at the arrow's direction, before gasping. "I won't make it in time..." He said as he saw the arrow head for the Fall Maiden. He reached for the arrow, trying to stop it in it's tracks before his acceleration ended out of the pain it was inflicting. The arrow pierced the glass of the chamber, killing Amber.

The Thompson's bullet had hit Cinder, causing her to fall to the ground due to her aura depleting. The machine had shut down with Amber's death. Emiya looked to her body in horror, before a yellow aura flied towards Cinder. She had not only recovered but also seemingly gained new powers.

Jaune had tried to rush her, but to no avail. "Stay back!" Yelled Ozpin before he was pushed away by the archer's newfound power. You could hear Pyrrha bang on the glass, eventually causing it's door to fall off. She attempted to rush Cinder as well, only to be met by Ironwood's arm blocking her. "Take Jaune and get out of here. Get Ironwood, Glynda and Qrow here immediately!"

Pyrrha hesitated. "I can help!"

"You're only getting in the way." With that said, Nikos took Arc and started to run away. Cinder didn't even mind one bit. Emiya started to load his weapon once more. "You too. Make sure everyone is evacuated safely." Ozpin nodded.

Emiya was reluctant, but he ran for it as well. But he looked back. He would be of no help to Ozpin back there, but if he could at least save a few people in the city... "Quite a valiant sacrifice." Let out Cinder.

3:11 PM, Beacon Academy

The elevator opened it's doors only for Emiya to see what Ozpin had described. Hell, indeed. Beacon was completely ruined as a result of attacks from Grimm. In one corner sat Team RWBY and parts of Team JNPR. They were absolutely beaten up, the worst of them being Yang, who had an arm completely torn off.
