"Taylor..." Ivy whispered as she pulled away, "Ivy?" Taylor said taking the younger girls hand, "Should we be doing this?" Ivy said softly, "Probably not but oh well" Taylor said pulling Ivy in for another kiss, "So, We've always been gay huh?" Ivy giggled, "Why did you think I could never keep a man" Taylor chuckled,
"Ivy??" The stern voice of her grandmother floated into the room, "Oh shoot" Ivy mumbled as she straightened herself out and walked back into the main room
"Grandma!" Ivy said putting on her best fake smile and moving to hug the woman, "How have you been dear?" Her grandmother asked, "Quite well" Ivy said with a genuine smile "You have brought a date yes?" The lady inquired, "Well I don't have a boyfriend but i did bring a friend" Ivy said internally gagging at the thought of having relations other than friendship with a male
"Hi I'm Taylor" The singer said politely as she joined Ivy in the room, "Nice to meet you dear, Come, The rest of the family is in the living room" The elderly woman said as she led them through a hallway and into a dimly lit room with multiple fancy couches
Taylor followed behind as the three of them entered the room
"What the fuck.." Ellie yelled startling everyone out of their conversations
"Elliot language!" Her mother reprimanded
"That's Taylor Swift. Why is Taylor Swift here!? Am I delusional!??" The fourteen-year-old exclaimed looking genuinely worried for her mental state
"Hi everyone, I'm Taylor, I'm Ivy's friend" Taylor said smiling at everyone
"Ivy? I didn't know you were cool" Ellie said with her mouth wide open
"Surprise kiddo" Ivy said with a slight smile,
"Come sit!" Her father urged as they both went and took a seat on the couch the farthest away from everyone so that they could talk in peace
"I think I may have broken Ellie" Taylor giggled looking at the girl who was still gaping at both of them
"Eh she'll live, I don't even know how to feel about the new kids, I guess it doesn't affect me much since I live on my own but I still think my dad should've told me" Ivy grimaced
"And I'm sorry about your mum..." Taylor whispered softly, "It's okay... We thought it might come to this someday, Cancer's not an easy thing to shake" Ivy said sadly
"You know we're gonna have to talk about it soon" Taylor reminded
"Maybe not now, Since my family is here" Ivy whispered, "Mkay, but we will talk about it later" Taylor said causing Ivy to sigh loudly
"So Taylor what do you do for a living?" Margaret asked making Elliot choke on her drink
"Have you been living under a rock!?" Ellie asked her mother
"Don't push my buttons Elliot" Her mother said sternly
"I'm a singer-songwriter" Taylor chuckled nervously,
"Oh well, maybe you could play us something? We have a guitar" Margaret suggested
"You don't have to if you don't wanna" Ivy said understandingly, "No it's totally fine" The popstar said grabbing the guitar from its stand
"What song would you guys like to hear?" Taylor asked the kids, "Red!" Cassandra yelled suddenly finding her voice, "No! Sparks fly is better" Ellie argued, "You both are idiots" Sam grumbled,
"Why don't I play both?" Taylor suggested attempting to appease both of the moody teenagers, "Yes please!" Cassandra said excitedly, "Who are those songs by?" Ivy's father asked rubbing his face confusedly
"Me!" Taylor giggled as all the children turned to glare at their new father
"Wonderful! carry on" The man said leaning forward in interest
"Loving him was like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street" Taylor sang while she played the chords for red on the guitar
everyone was speechless as Taylor gave the performance of a lifetime in the crammed living room space, All the hate, Anger, Frustration, It was flowing out in the form of a song...
...
As the last notes of red played and Taylor opened her eyes everyone got on their feet and gave her the loudest ovation possible, Even Sam was cheering!
"Thanks you guys" Taylor said as a warm blush crept onto her cheeks and the anger that had been there moments ago had dissipated
"Sparks Fly?" Ellie reminded, "How could i forget?" Taylor said with a smile as she began to strum the all too familiar tune on the guitar
Taylor turned around so that she was now facing everyone on Ivy's side of the room, Including the girl herself as she sang the words
"I see sparks fly whenever you smile"
She stared directly at the younger blonde while singing those words causing Ivy to stop singing along and give the older girl a shy smile as butterflies filled her stomach
"Get me with those green eyes baby as the lights go down"
Normal lyrics, Except, Ivy's eyes were green. And now her cheeks were burning red
"Thank you Taylor for that, Ill have to go and listen to some of your songs now, Any recommendations?" Ivy's father asked as he pushed his glasses further back on his nose
"Well..." Taylor hummed quite unsure how to answer that question
"Shake it off, New Romantics, Should've said no, Heck just go listen to everything she's ever done, Its all perfect" Ellie gushed before Taylor had the chance to reply
"I second that!" Ivy piped up from the back after recovering from her butterfly attack
"Thanks Ellie! Remind me to invite you to a show sometime..." Taylor said trailing off as she realized everyone probably hated her and didnt want to come to her shows anymore
"Sure, Also... I dont think your a snake" Ellie whispered to the singer before leaving the room to get another glass of soda
"Heh..." Taylor said looking down at her calloused hands, "Everyone hates me..." Taylor mumbled to herself
"Not anyone that matters" Ivy reminded her softly as she placed a comforting hand on the girls back
By this time most of the household had retired for the night leaving Ivy and Taylor alone in the living room
"I-i guess so..." Taylor said with a dry laugh
"We should head upstairs" Ivy suggested, "Probably, But not before i do this" Taylor said before grabbing Ivy's head gently and kissing her softly
"I think i like you Ms Taylor Swift" Ivy said hesitating for a second but then moving to sit on the older girls lap
"Me too" Taylor whispered as she pressed their foreheads together
"Took us long enough to realise it" Ivy said caressing the side of Taylor's cheek
"You're my best friend" Taylor said moving her hand so that she was also cupping the other girls cheek
"And you're mine"
