I fell against the shore, bruised and bloodied. My pink dress was torn to shreds. I shivered from the cold as it seeped deep into my bones.

A man with blonde hair and blue eyes walked slowly over to me. He reached his hand out, a look of impatience on his face. I reached up with my own hand, placing it in his. His hand was cold, but I barely felt it over my own coldness.

The man pulled me up, wrapping an arm firmly around my waist. "Madam, what has happened to you?" He asked.

I bit my lip, wondering if I should tell him. I had been on the run for three years, after having to give up my child. I had been searching for her when my father caught me. He punished me and so I ran, as far away as I could.

Deciding that honesty was the best policy, as my mother had taught me, I told him my predicament. "I've been running from my abusive father. He nearly found me in my last place of residence. I ran and hear I am."

The man smiled a bitter sweet smile. His bright eyes flickered down at the blood seeping from several wounds on my stomach, chest, arms, and legs. He looked back up at me, frowning slightly.

"Well, you are in good hands, my dear. I am Lord Niklaus Mikaelson. I run the Mikaelson manor with my brother, Elijah, and sister, Rebekah. We'd be more than happy to have you reside with us, my dear." Niklaus told me.

"Oh, my Lord, I do not wish to be a bother." I protested.

"Oh, come now. You'll be safe, fed, loved." Niklaus looked at me seriously when he said the word 'loved'. A blush overcame my cheeks.

"If you insist." I gave in, deciding it was best if I stayed with him. He seemed to be able to offer me safety.

Holly has been staying with me for a few weeks now. In those few, short weeks she has taken my heart from my chest.

I was hosting a ball, and I was simply waiting for Holly to come down from her chambers.

As soon as she did, in her blue and black dress, I fell in love. I decided to ask her to dance with me.

Yet, as I was about to walk up to her, I could see my brother talking to her. The two began to dance, never leaving each other's sides.

I was filled with anger and jeaousy. How could my own brother betray me? Maybe it was simply a friendly gesture. I would let this slide, for now.

As I turned to walk away, I noticed the two slip away. From that moment on, I vowed that I would never let Elijah be happy with Holly. If that meant I had to kill one, or both, of them, then I would.
