When he had first joined the agency, he frequently heard that they were poor. The company was a small one. There was no guarantee that they would achieve success, hell, whether they would even be able to debut was a question. Many times Jin overheard that money was in short supply. Debuting idols costs a lot of money and if they weren't even successful, how were they supposed to make a profit and support themselves? The questions and worries were endless.

But then, he was pretty young and clueless. He had been street-casted and he wasn't all that knowledgeable about music. He tried to focus on learning more about singing and performing. If he kept his head low and did his work, hopefully he would become part of the group. Or be let go. Or whatever. He was just going with the flow. Whatever happened, happened.

But somewhere in between there, he realized that he did like this job. Singing wasn't easy but when he got it right, he loved it. Dancing wasn't easy but when he got it right, he loved it. Slowly, he began to step into his role as one of the future members of a new boy group.

He got along with all the trainees. With his soft, caring nature, he didn't get into a lot of fights and it was easy. Maybe some people were jealous, but it didn't bother him. He always worked hard.

"Welcome."

Jin nodded at the manager. A few days ago, he had been informed that he was going to have to live with his new members. He knew some of the people who were involved.

"Hi."

That was Taehyung.

"Hi," he said.

"I think all of us are here now. I mean, I still need to get everything sorted out. Everything is still quite a mess here."

Jin looked around the room. He had been expecting a decent-sized apartment, but there was only this one room which looked far too small to house more than two people.

"How many of us are there?" he asked.

"Huh? Oh..." Taehyung thought for a second. "Me and you included, there's seven. Me and you not included, there's five."

When Jin kept staring at him, he continued, "Oh, um... I think there's you, Namjoon hyung, Yoongi hyung, Jimin, Jungkook, and Hoseok hyung."

Jin's mind was spinning. So, forget two people, there were going to be seven people living in this place. And as far as he knew, all the people that Taehyung just named were younger than him, which meant that he was the eldest member. Kim Seokjin, the eldest... wow. He was the youngest in his family, so this was going to be a new experience.

"Doesn't it sound good?" Taehyung asked.

Jin nodded.

He supposed that he needed to start sorting things out as well. This was going to take some time to get used to.

It slowly dawned on him that most of the others were underage. Yoongi and him were the only ones above eighteen. Jin felt a sudden need to protect them. In this industry, there were lots of dangerous things that happened. As the eldest member, he felt responsible for making sure that they stayed safe. What's worse was that he constantly felt unsure. Was he doing the right thing? When Jungkook felt sad and asked him for advice, was he being helpful? Did he have enough empathy to take on this role?
