Now am as mixed about this on a Joker squeal as anyone else it doesn't seem to be necessary if you ask me they should have the Joker movies as an anthology.
Let me explain in the Batman storyline the killer joke would Joker have tortured Jim Gordon almost to the breaking point to prove that one bad day can drive a normal Joe into a mad psychopath.
It just that he remembers things one play RMB scenes another if he has to have a past he likes to have multiple choices in other words a sequel must contradict what happened in the original with different times places in settings and themes with all of them starting on one bad day.
