Octavius knew he was nearing his end. This is the end for him. He laid against a pile of wood, actuators tired from fighting. His hair was wet and pretty much all of him was wet. He felt so stupid. He created the same thing that killed his sweet Rosie. The same thing that ran his sweet (Y/N) away.

Spider Man squatted in front of him, his suit tattered and wet. "Doc, how do I stop it?"

Octavius shook his head, still thinking about what he's done. The voices were quiet. Just his thoughts. Spider Man pulled his mask down, showing Octavius who he really was.

"Peter Parker?" Octavius laughed. "Brilliant but lazy."

Spider Man looked at him with concern. "Doc, I need to stop this. How do you turn it off?"

One of the actuators gripped Peter by the throat, choking him slowly. "It cannot be stopped."

Peter raised his arms only to bring them back down, the oxygen leaving his body. "You once told me, it was a man's job in this world to help save it. Look at what this thing is doing."

Octavius glanced around the building. A boat flying into the orb. He frowned, realizing once again, he was hurting people. He was driving people away.

"Please Otto, help me stop this."

Octavius looked at his actuators, who didn't want the experiment to die. "Listen," All the actuators were glaring and tightening their grip around Peter, "Listen to me now!" Octavius screamed as all of them lowered themselves, letting go of Peter.

Peter grabbed his throat. "Now how can we stop it?"

"It's too powerful, it cannot be stopped." Octavius looked around, listening to the water sway underneath him.

"C'mon think Doc."

Octavius raised his eyes to meet Peter's, "The water. It can drown in the water."

Peter was about to stand and drown the sun, but an actuator gripped his arm and stopped him. "No, I will do it."

The actuators lifted Octavius up from the ground, water dripping all over. He was standing in front of the sun, apologizing to everyone in his head for the mess he had made. Apologizing to Rosie for working too hard instead of just being home. Apologizing to Peter, for ruining his reputation. Apologizing to (Y/N), for leaving again and again.

Oh god how he wished to just lay with her again. To lay under the pale moonlight, watching her sleep peacefully. Her hair a mess but he didn't care. She was just perfect in any form.

Octavius remembered his first encounter with (Y/N), how scared she was but how patient she had become in a matter of seconds. It didn't matter that he was a horrible person, she cared for him so deeply, that it reminded him every day of Rosie. Which scared him badly. He didn't want to hurt her the same way he had done with Rosie. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

As Octavius made his final eye contact with Peter, he heard a voice calling him.

"I love you!"

The actuators were already on their way to pulling the sun into the river. Octavius had tears daring to leave his chocolate eyes. He was prepared for death. For the past year he figured he deserved it for hurting his sweet Rosie. For hurting everyone.

He looked up into his creation with disgust. "I will not die a monster." He spoke to himself, pulling the last pole and collapsing the sun on top of him, into the river.

As Octavius slowly sank to the bottom of the river, he had a few memories that wouldn't leave his head, and they weren't with Rosie. No none of them were.

He remembered the night (Y/N) named all of his actuators. The night she grew comfortable around him, and he never understood why. She would pet Mo the most, but gave attention to all of them while he worked. He would pretend not to feel the touch of her hand on his actuators, but the nerves were intertwined with his own that he could feel every single touch. The way she would delicately pet them all with her frail fingers, it sent goosebumps all over. At times it would make him nervous.

"Mo, Flo, Harry, Larry. Now you all have names." She would giggle while they attacked her with chirps and hugs. "Mo is calm and always wants attention. Flo seems to have an attitude and always works. Sound familiar?" (Y/N) would whisper into Octavius's ear, who scoffed. "Harry is jumpy and is always questioning everything, and Larry is in charge of everything. Top dog, and he hopefully makes sure Otto is okay."

Octavius felt (Y/N) nudge his back, where Larry was. Larry nodded in an odd way, which questioned her.

"Otto, please tell me you do clean up and take breaks." (Y/N) she would ask with such sympathy. Why did this woman care so much for him? He was a villain for crying out loud.

Octavius chuckled as he turned towards her, seeing the actuators squeezing her form. It made him blush to see her like this. "You sound like a mother."

She would lecture him about self care and that he needed to care for himself, but she didn't know who he really was. What he has done. Until she was in Florida.

"You left me! You said you wouldn't leave. You lied to me!" (Y/N) yelled through the phone, her voice was shaky from crying and it pained Octavius to hear it. "I want to know about Rosie."

Octavius froze, not knowing what to say. He didn't want to scare her away.

"She... Sh-She was the love of my life... My sweet love. She cherished me more than I thought anyone could. I'm the reason she passed, and I don't need that to happen to you as well." He explained to her.

It's not like he wanted to hide it from (Y/N), not at all. It just scared him that he might do the same thing to her, someone he deeply cares for.

"I don't think it was your fault Otto, and she knows that too." (Y/N) spoke with such sympathy. Such kindness that Octavius believed he didn't deserve.

"And Otto, you deserve someone too. You're human just like me. I'm not leaving."

Octavius broke down. He could hear everything and everything. His sobs hurt his throat, and his eyes stung with tears that have been fighting to break free for months. His chest felt as if someone took a hammer and slammed it into his heart. He started to sweat, scared that he was falling in love all over again. The voices in his head were loud, but they weren't stern or arguing. They were crying. Feeling an emotion they haven't heard before.

"Thank you." Octavius muttered, clearing his throat. "You're too kind to me my dear."

(Y/N) giggled through the phone. "Take your time, I'll always be here waiting."

Octavius felt the sand and dirt against his back, his eyes slowly closing. The water feeling warmer by the second. A ting of electricity running through his veins. His heart slowing down.

I love you too (Y/N).
