magic armor

Jim's POV

I open the door and peek my head into Mr. Stricklers' office "Ah, hello Jim. What can I do for you?" Strickler asked as soon as he saw me "Um, do you have a minute?" I asked "Are you all right? You looked peaked. Here, sit." Strickler gestured for me to sit noticing how nervous I looked. As soon as he said that I quickly walked in taking a deep breath while grabbing the chair from the piano "Okay, I don't really know how to say this, but last night something incredible happened." I started to explain while turning the seat so it would be higher then sitting down "Actually, unbelievable, completely unbelievable." I continue before getting up and twisting the chair a little bit more "As in you won't believe me but i'm telling you it's true, I promise you it's true." I finish as I sat back down finally satisfied by the height of the chair "All right. Just cam down, I'll believe you." Stickler assured as he grabbed a pen and started fidgeting with it.

"Uh, okay. Last night me and y/n we're at my house and two, um, things showed up at my house." I started to explain "Things?" Stickler questioned "You know, things. Guys. But really weird. O-One had these eyes, and the other one was huge and hairy. And that said that they were Tro-" I continued explaining but then I began rethinking if I should tell him, I don't know I just has this gut feeling that I shouldn't "Tro..?" Strickler asked curious about what I meant 'quick Jim think.. ummm Oh! I got it!' "Tr... Trainers! Trainers who want to train us in.. Ch... uh... Chess." I lied turning towards the chess board near the window and walking towards it. A chuckle came from Strickler "And why would that have you so perturbed?" he asked "They really weirded us out." I explain picking up a chess piece examining it, I then looked out the window to see Steve kick a ball and hit another kids face, somehow he knew I was watching him because he turned to me and held out a finger shaking it back and forth "Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock." he threatened reminding me about the fight he scheduled causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"Now, I think I know what has you so distraught, Jim." Strickler began walking over to me "You do?" I question turning to him "It's like I told you yesterday, you have a lot on your shoulders. Too much in my opinion, for someone your age. And I think this opportunity.." "Chess?" I question "I think its causing you anxiety." Strickler explained taking the chess piece from my hand and placing it back on the board then knocking it over "I know you want to be there for your mother, but it's as a great poet once wrote. Do whats good for you, or you're not good enough for anybody." Strickler advised while crossing his arms as the bell rang "Hey thanks for the advice, I like talking to you." I thank him turning to get my bag "Always." Strickler replied, I pull the back around my shoulder not noticing how my bag was open then walked out of the room.

~after school your POV~

I'm now in my room laying on my bed and staring at my the amulet I found in the canals, its vibrant f/c pulsing softly. It still looked the same as the other ten times I was examining it, I haven't told my parents yet....about anything, the amulet calling my name or the trolls me and Jim met yesterday mostly because they will  just say that Im making the whole thing up.  Just as I was lost in thought the amulet started glowing brighter then before, I then stood up from my bed, my eyes never leaving the amulet.

The wording on the amulet then started glowing, it was definitely not english, the words then started turning while the gears on the amulet start turning as well, the language switching until it landed on english I then squint due to the wording being small "For the glory of merlin... daylight is mine to command?" I recite the wording not really paying attention to my surroundings. Pretty soon I hear some noises and look up to see random objects floating in circles around the room, "What the-" I then look back down as a glowing f/c ball comes out of the amulet and started circling around me before going into the left side of my chest, then a few more followed after.

Pretty soon I was floating in the air 'WHAT IS HAPPENING?!' I ask myself, shades of f/c started circling around me I then look around to see pieces of armor appearing around me, then in a blink of an eye it all closes in on me but it's a little to big for my size, as if on command the armor shrinks down to my size while glowing a bright f/c. "This. Is. Amazing!" I exclaim as I turned to look at myself in the mirror examining the armor. Then a few more of the glowing f/c balls came out of the amulet which was now on my chest, came down to my hand causing my hand to glow, a huge bow them appeared in my hand causing me to yelp as I lean down from the sudden wait "y/n you ok?" My mom yelled to me "Fine mom!" I replied as I tried to lift the bow before it shrunk down to an a accurate size for me, a quiver appeared on my back with a singular  f/c arrow. I gape at the bow my emotions being a mixture of surprised, excitement, confused, and scared.

I then look back in the mirror and stared at myself for a few seconds "Honey? Can I come in?" My mom asked as she knocked on the door a few times 'She must of not heard me..' I quickly started brainstorming on how to get this thing off "J-Just a sec!" I exclaim nervousness lacing my voice as I leaned the bow on the wall and quickly started tearing the amulet off me- well trying, that thing was not budging. "I'm coming in." My mom said as she turned the door nob opening the door as I froze in place "Uh- I can explain, well not really but I'll try-" I quickly start to say holding up my hands.

"I know what's happening here..." My mother begins, I gulp "Y-you do?" I ask "Your auditioning for Romeo and Juliet! Claire's mom told me all about it!" My mom exclaimed 'Phew..' "Uh yeah that's the one." I lied "But honey I believe Romeo is the one that wears the armor." My mom says as she walks up to me and hugs me which was a little weird with the armor on "Unless that's who you want to audition for I don't judge." She says "No I'll be auditioning for Juliet, thanks though." I say as my mom kissed my forehead "Well alright, get some sleep. Love you." She says as she turns to leave "Love you too, Mom." I added as I watch her close the door before letting out a breath I didn't know I had 'Great.. now I'm gonna have to audition for the play' I said to myself as I rolled my eyes. My armor and bow then disappeared and my amulet fell into my hands "Really, now you go away.." I complained glaring at my amulet.

Sorry for the short chapter I just wanted to finish the first episode😭

well anyways im gonna explain somethings

- the arrow inside the quiver replaces itself when ever it is used, so when its taken out another one appears and it has a infinite
- your armor is the same as Jim but is f/c instead of blue
- and your mom is friends with Claire's mom so thats another reason why you and Claire kind of knows you
