Fire gets shot straight towards me and Jim, we jump opposite ways in order to not get hit. Some arrows get launched at him as he hits the arrows away with his sword, a few targets were moving around with scary faces on it that breath fire while shot arrows ate the targets taking them down. "Always be afraid." Blinky says "Fear heightens your sense. Fear keeps you alive." Blinky explains while I start to dodge arrows with Jim, we thought we were done till we got blasted in the back causing us to fall forward.
"Arrogance gets you killed." Blink adds standing over us. Me and Jim let out a groan "Yeah, I'll have to remember that." Jim says "Noted." I muttered. "Draal however, does not fear you two." Blink says picking me and Jim up and back on our feet. "That will be his weakness, but not you guys. You two will be wetting your armor. That will be your strength."Me and Jim continue to dodge obstacles 'wow this is tiring' "Oh yeah. Looking good guys. Feel the burn!" Toby says as he works out with his new fancy watch. "If Jim and y/n's getting fit im getting fit." he adds smiling at his watch "Don't want to be too big." he says as he started doing squats. Argh looked at Toby with a sad expression "Not that there's anything wrong with being big!" Toby quickly assures the troll "But if im gonna have Jim and y/n's back, I gotta be nimble." he explains before continuing to workout as Argh copies him, me and Jim fighting for our lives in the mean time. "Yeah baby! Hit a benchmark. I've run a total of... a hundred feet five calories burnt nice!" he cheers as his watch beeps.
Personally I think me and Jim were killing it, he was slashing wooden targets and avoiding obstacles with his sword while I was shooting at targets and dodging blasts targeted at me. We both pause for a second "You know, I think being afraid is the one rule that we-" Jim starts to say before I yank him down to duck from arrows coming at us causing the target behind us to get hit and suddenly catch on fire. I chuckle "Excel at..." I finish Jim's sentence. "No you two, You must excel at all three. If trolls are ever going ti embrace you as a Trollhunter's, you must ignore your humanly instincts." Blinky says as a target popped up, Jim throwing his sword hitting it in the eye while I shoot an arrow hitting the other eye. "Do that, and I have no doubt you will defeat Draal." Blink says enthusiastically.
Draal then walks into them training room as we leave laughing at us. "Look their training...cute." he mocks, laughing. Me and Jim watch the troll walk away 'oh we are so dead..' I thought "Let your fear keep you two alive. Let his arrogance lead him astray." Blinky advises walking up to us "Defeat him.. and you'll make history." He adds as we all leave the room.
Time skip
We are now on a field trip at the museum we stand in a group as we listen to Nomura gives us a lecture which I was zoning out on. Till everyone groaned I look around confused thats when Mr. Strickler said "Since we have limited time, Ms. Nomura, perhaps it's best if they explore the museum on their own. Don't you think?" He suggest, everyone then excitedly ran off, Jim grabbing my hand and dragging me inside the building with Toby following behind. "So check this out guys. So if I walk fifty thousand steps, I get the t-shirt." Toby starts explaining as we walking around the museum looking around at all the artifacts. "A hundred thousand nets me the water bottle, but if I get five hundred thousand- oh man, you guys- that's when things get interesting!" Toby finished as he let out a chuckle, I smile at him before Jim was staring at something. I look to where his eyes led to see Steve with Claire 'poor girl...'
"Look at that embroidery." Claire said admiring the dress. "Hey, sorry if you got caught up in that little between Lake and I, but I want you to know, since joining the play, I feel like there's another side of me that really wants to come out." Steve says to her a slight lisp could be heard due to the tooth Jim knocked out of him. "Apology accepted. You were a jerk." Claire says looking to Steve before turning back to admire the dress again. Thats when Steve walked on the other side of Claire and started to rub his hands on his back while making kissing noises 'gross..' Jim sighs and puts his head on the railing in annoyance. I lightly pat his back "Aw, come on man. Dont let Steve get to you. Claire is a smart girl, she'll realize he's a jerk." Toby says trying to cheer Jim up. "How? She's to busy thinking im a Jerk for ditching y/n at rehearsal's!" Jim exclaims "Claire does say im too nice for letting that slide." I shrugged. "Well then this is the perfect moment dude. Take her hand and use those lips of your and talk to her." Toby says before grabbing my wrist and walking towards Claire and Steve pulling me along with him "Toby no, no! Wait, wait!" Jim pleaded.
"Hey, Steve! Did you hear about the Neanderthal exhibit?" Toby asked him "Topless." He added smirking "Nice! Cave ladies!" Steve says happily while walking away "Ugh boys are so weird." I roll my eyes "Sorry y/n but it's necessary." Toby says. "Come here, come here." Toby ushered Jim forward. Jim slowly approaches Claire "I wish the play had these costumes." Jim says chuckling. "I know right? With our school budget, y/n will probably end up having to do the balcony scene in her bathrobe." Claire says laughing a little "But I believe she can pull it off." she adds 'awe-' "Yeah, you and her are the only ones that look like they know what they're doing." Jim says "Tell that too my parents. The one time I get a B whats their advice? Drop the play." Claire says as they turned to look at a different exhibit. "Are they crazy?! You were born for this! Its like your-" Jim said before being nudged by Toby as he sneakily walked by them"Get closer." he whispered "Your calling!" Jim finished scooting closer to Claire a pang of jealousy striking through me 'Woah, woah calm down y/n...'
"My mom would be stoked if I ever found something to be passionate about." Jim says leaning on the railing "Wow! You're pretty passionate yourself Mr. Guru. What about you? What's calling you Jim Lake Junior?" she asked 'a magical trollhunter amulet' I say in my head as Jim clears his throat. I start to zone out of there conversation as I started thinking, 'why do I feel this way... Its not like a like Jim- right? I mean he's my best friend along with Toby so what is going on?' I snap out of my thoughts as I look up to see Toby and Jim standing in front of me Jim looked a little concerned since I was very quite "Y/n, we got a problem!" Toby says worriedly.
————— hey! Yes i know i haven't updated in a while I had a h u g e writers block. Also sorry kinda short chapter I just wanted to get this part out of the way Also dont worry Jim will realize he may have feelings for someone else soon😏.
