Draal

"Wider stance. Keep your frame. No that's good, that's good. Yes all right, fine." Blinky instructed me and Jim on our fighting stance, Jim holding his sword out while I held my bow up like I was going to shoot "That's better. Alright, raise your weapons" Me and Jim did as told "Head up, chin out, stomach in." Blinky continued instructing. "The Trollhunters live and die by three rules. Rule number one, always be afraid." Blinky says holding up a finger "Afraid?" Jim questioned, me and him turn to where Argh and Toby were sitting "Be afraid." Argh repeated "Yeah I don't think that'll be a problem." I said smiling "Woah!" Jim exclaimed quickly wrapping an arm around me, pulling me down slightly as a rock flew over our heads, we stood back up Jim's arm still around me, we look back at Argh who caught the rock and ate it. Looking back at each other a light coat of pink found its way to our faces, Jim quickly released me and we looked back to Blinky "See? Fear is good. Keeps us alert. Keeps us on guard. Makes us vigilant." Blinky explained before he started to throw rocks at us, me and Jim dodging "A hero is not he who is fearless, but he who is not stopped by it." Blinky then started walking around us "Got it." Me and Jim say at the same time.

"Two, always finish the fight. An opponent must be given no mercy!" Blinky then threw two more rocks at us, but then he started rapidly throwing them at us, Jim jumped in front of me blocking them with his sword, me also using my bow to hit some "Okay enough with the rocks, already." Jim pleaded walking backwards until Blinky finally stopped "Always finish the fight?" I asked as I watch Jim fall forward a little seeing a rock land near by, I bite my tounge to stop myself from laughing "Kill." Argh says dramatically Toby pointed to Argh not wanting to get the blame, Jim stood back up and glared at Argh. "Indeed. The Trollhunters must always vanquish his or hers opponent through death." Blinky explained "Dude thats harsh." Toby commented.

"Ours is an unforgiving world, Toby D. Hence, the third rule, when in doubt always kick them in the gronk-nuts." Blinky said "Gronk-nuts?" Jim questioned. Blinky then tapped his foot, a giant blade came out of the wall landing right near Jim 'Ooooh its a dude thing' "The horror." Argh shuddered. The blade then returned back to its original place "So basically, you're saying that one third of being a Trollhunter, is kicking someone in the nards?" Jim questioned but only to be interrupted by an annoyingly familiar blue troll "Ah! So, the Trollhunter's training's begin. I thought the great Trollhunter's might accept my services as a sparring partner. Part of your training regiment, isn't it?" Draal says obviously having a deeper meaning then helping us train.

"In due time, perhaps." Blinky answers "Why wait?" a voice interrupts. We all look up to see Vendel on a podium "I am eager to see your charge's demonstrate their mettle." Vendel declares "Actually the weapons are more made of like, daylight." Jim says, me nodding my head in agreement "He means your mettle, your ability to cope in the face of adversity." Blink whispered to us "Oh. Yeah, we're still working on the whole mettle part." I explain with a sheepish smile "Plus, you know, S-A-T words." Jim added earning a chuckle from Vendel "Let them spar." Vendel orders. "No harm in it." Draal says cheerfully before walking to his spot. Me and Jim exchange worried glances before running up to Blinky who was now walking away "Wait, what do we do?" I asked as we finally caught up to him "Hit him as hard as you can." Blinky answered putting his hands in fists "No, no. I mean, What do we do?" I ask again "We've never hit anyone." Jim continues causing Blinky to stop and turn "Ever?" he asked in disbelief "We've never gotten into a fight." I answer him shrugging "In your entire lives?" Blinky asked us still in disbelief "Well all 15 years of it, yeah." Jim answers worriedly. "You fought Bular, however briefly, and you were glorious. Your blade work and archery work was impressive." Blinky trys to encourage us "Those were just my chef skills!" Jim exclaims "And my archery lessons from like fifth grade!" I added.

"Exactly! The fight is within you! Trust yourselves. One hit!" Blinky cheered placing a hand on each of our shoulders before putting all of his arms up in fists, then realizing his mistake he put three of his arms down and kept one up "One hit and you two will be changed forever." Blinky then turned me and Jim and nudged us forward a little before walking aways. "Begin." Vendel declared. Me and Jim held our weapons ready, I reached back and grabbed an arrow putting it on the bow. Draal growled and punched the ground before charging at us "One hit." I hear Jim mutter, Draal then starts rolling twoards us at full speed, Jim grabbing my arm and pulling us out of the way. Draal continued to roll up the wall before turning and heading right towards us, Draal comes down with a punch barely missing me and Jim sending us forward, a dust cloud was then formed around us and I lost sight of Jim "Jim?!" I exclaimed looking around, I then see a blue glow appear and Jim flying backwards, the dust then cleared up.

Jim's p.o.v

"All right, all right. Now, just give me a second here." I try to reason before getting interrupted by Draal punching me a few times sending me flying towards the edge, waking over to me Draal picks me up and holds me over the edge 'welp- this is it' I thought before hearing a familiar voice "Put him down!" Draal, still holding me over the edge turns to see y/n with a bow and three arrows on it ready to fire. "Preferably over the edge... Please." She added. Draal rolls his eyes and looked towards me "I've waited my entire life to inherit the amulet. I can wait until you two fall in battle." Draal threatened squeezing me tight before dropping me on the floor "I suspect I won't have to wait very long. If you know whats good for you and her you'll stay down and live, worm." Draal then started walking away giving a glare to y/n. Without waisting a second, y/n ran over to me, dropping her bow in the process and knelt down looking at me worriedly "Trollhunter." Draal mocked laughing. "Are you ok?" y/n asked "Probably not." I answer still catching my breath, y/n then hugs me "You have no idea how worried I was.."she muttered as I hugged her back slowly.

time skip and your p.o.v

"He might be right. What the heck was I thinking. An amulet can't choose anyone. It's an amulet." Jim says as we arrived at the crystal stairs "I understand you're upset, Master Jim and Mistress y/n, but you two have not a moment's training. There's no shame in what just transpired." Blinky encouraged as me and Jim start walking up the stairs "Okay, well then you were definitely not paying attention back there. Shame was about the only thing that transpired. Shame.... and realization." I watched as Jim pulled out his amulet "I don't know if Draal should be the Trollhunter or not, and I don't care. I know that y/n is definitely worthy." Jim says gesturing to me "Jim.." I said with a sad expression "I just know that I am not." he continued tossing the amulet which Blinky picked up "Master Jim, despite whatever doubts you may have about the amulet's choice, it is now bonded to you." Blinky explained as the amulet floated back up to Jim and he caught it "This is a mantle you cannot refuse." Blinky added "Watch me." Jim declares dropping the amulet again as it fell down the stairs, he then started walking up the stairs "C'mon y/n, Toby." Jim called to us, Toby started walking up the stairs "Sorry about him, he'll come around eventually... I hope." I apologized to Blinky before running up after Jim.
