📍 KAMAR TAJ, KATHMANDU, NEPAL

After meeting up with the man who had miraculously cured himself (Jonathan Pangborn), You and your father headed to Nepal, curious and desperate, given your body conditions.

Your palms were starting to ache from holding onto the crutches and using them to walk for such long miles, which led you nowhere.

That was until a couple of men ambushed you and your father in an alleyway, demanding your father's watch. But an unfamiliar man stepped in in time, taking down the men.

Somehow, he knew that you and your father were looking for Kamar-Taj and offered to lead you both to the location.

After a while, the three of you emerged from a narrow alleyway and started to bypass an ancient temple.

Stephen looked over at the temple then over at Mordo in confusion as he approached a plain, simple wooden door, "You sure you have the right place?" He asked as he looked back towards the temple, "That one looks a little more Kamar-Taj-ey,"

You followed your father's gaze, jerking your head to the side in amusement and agreement.

But the man just stared at him, "I once stood in your place. And I, too, was disrespectful. Might I offer a piece of advice?" he looked from you to your father, his laze lingering on you for a few moments, "Forget everything you think you know,"

The man had led you and your father lead down the hall until the three of you approached an ornate structure.

"It's a long walk," he told you, glancing at your crutches.

"I'm not leaving my daughter away anywhere out of my sight," Stephen stated stubbornly.

"Dad," you caught his attention, "I'll be fine. Besides, I'm pretty exhausted from the long walk, you know," you opened and closed your fist, trying to relieve the stiffness in them from holding onto the handle of the crutch.

Staring in contemplation, Stephen finally sighed, bringing you in an assuring, comforting side hug, before he walked away with the man, letting you sit on the chair in the hallway and rest your crutches on the wall nearby.

About ten to fifteen minutes later, the man from earlier returned to the hallway. He walked towards the wall where your crutches rested and hand them to you.

"Oh, um, thank you," you grimaced timidly.

"You have your mother's hospitability," the Ancient One stated, walking towards you, "Y/N L/N-Strange,"

You noticed her appearance— she was bald, with pale skin that was close to the shades of the traditional tunic she was wearing. Most importantly, she looked young and old at the same time; almost ageless.

"Are you the magical guru called 'Ancient One'?" you got a little defensive at the mention of your mother like you always did, putting up a cold front.

"And your father's traits," The Ancient One smirked ever so lightly, "Fascinating. Follow me," she led you to the room where she had been.

"Where's my Dad?"

"Learning his manners,"

You knew your father was arrogant, and unlike him, you knew when to put it down. And you certainly didn't want to mess with this woman. Something about her calm demeanor made you feel that she was something more than she presented herself to be.

"How do you know my mother?" You narrowed your eyes at her, "You don't look like an FBI agent,"

"I certainly am not," she chuckled, placing her hands behind her back, "Your mother was a close associate of mine. She was a sorceress. One of our best, in fact. Protecting this world from the dangers of other universes," she turned to face you once she was in the middle of the room.

"That's ridiculous," you scoffed at her, "'Cause there's no such thing as magic. It's make-believe. Fiction,"

She raised her hand to her side and you hear what sounds like glass breaking and see, down the hall, what looked like a cracked mirror.

You rubbed your eyes and looked up again, making sure you weren't hallucinating.

"Come with me," She walked towards the hall and phased through the cracked glass.

Hesitantly, you walk forward towards it, and once you enter you look around in awe as everything around you looked like cracked glass.

"This is the Mirror Dimension. Once in here, whatever you do affects nothing in the real world,"

"There's more to this than you can possibly imagine, Y/N. There's so much more for you to learn," She waved her arms in an intricate motion.

The room started to fold in itself, creating a ripple effect with loud vibrations.

"Jasmine always knew you'd come here one day. But not in this circumstance," she referred to your lower abdomen paralysis, "You don't have to worry about fitting in like you usually do, because you'll have a lot of familiar people here who will be glad to see you,"

You grimaced slightly, feeling exposed like an open wound at the fact she stated about you.

The Ancient One flexed her arms at her sides, stopping the motion of the room at once.

"This," you muttered, gripping the handles of your crutches tightly, "It can't be—"

Once again, the room began to fold, this time more violently, startling you.

Flashes of different dimensions shifted from one to another on each other the broken-glass-like structures.

"There are more worlds out there than this one, Y/N," The Ancient One carried on, "More than you can count and ever imagine,"

A tunnel-like dimension, fills the walls around you, vision full of different colors; pink, purple, blue, and greens.

"Mysteries lie beyond the reach of your senses? At the root of existence, mind and matter meet. Thoughts shape reality. This universe is only one of an infinite number. Worlds without end. Some benevolent and life-giving; others filled with malice and hunger. Dark places, where powers older than time lie—ravenous—and waiting,"

You took in the sight, eyes reflecting off the colours as you gaped in awe and wonder.

The flashes of colours only picked up the pace and finally vanished into thin air, with a gesture of the Ancient One's hand.

Seeing your baffled, yet impressed and convinced expression, she continued, "I could show them to you, but for now you are too young to see them all at once. Hence, we will take it one step at a time,"

"Teach me," you snapped your head to her, blinking wildly, "Please," you added, remembering to use your manners like Christine taught when you spent time with her.

The Ancient one smiled down at you, "Of course,"
