One...two....three....

You dribbled the ball three times before shooting it in the goal. The ball landed safely inside and bounced on the cement floor. You picked it up before backing up.

One...two...three...

You took three long, quick steps before leaping underneath the basket. You used one hand to overhand the ball from the right side of the hoop. You tossed it inside the goal. Your eyes glanced down, and you realized how high you had jumped. You landed on your feet and your arms shot out to catch the ball. You imagined someone was trying to guard you. You dribbled a couple of times before side-stepping. You imagined you dribbled around them and dodged their attacks of trying to get the ball from you. You ran across the court and jumped up to shoot the ball.

You took a minute to stop. You crouched over and placed your hands on your knees as you caught your breath. You don't know how long you've been practicing, but you've been practicing since Jerry had dropped you off at a court that was far away from where you stayed. You stood up and swiped sweat from your brow. Your eyebrows furrowed and you began dribbling again. You danced around the court. You practiced dribbling from hand-to-hand before switching your technique around and dribbling from underneath your legs.

You practiced for a few hours more that night, but not enough to exhaust you. You wanted to be ready for tomorrow. You wanted to give everything for your teammates and friends. When you got home, you noticed Gun was there. "Hiya," you said as you sat down beside him on the couch. His brow furrowed. "You smell like outside." He insulted you. Your eyes widened. "Do I?" You grabbed the front of your shirt and drew it up to your nose. "It isn't all that bad." You shook your head and scoffed. "You're just bein' dramatic."

"No, trust me, you smell like a dog."

"Hey!" You yelled and glared at him. It fell silent. Gun's typing was the only sound. You tried looking over his shoulder to see what he was up to, but he was much taller than you. You gave up and rested your head on the couch's back. You took the remote and turned on the television. You changed the channel to Cartoon Network and watched whatever was on.

You stood up after a few minutes. You said to no one in particular, "I'm going to take a shower." You walked to your room without waiting for an answer. You closed the door behind you and looked through your dresser for any clothes. You chose a pair of shorts and a t-shirt at random. You made your way to your room's shower. You grabbed a clean towel from the rack and draped it over the shower pole, making it easy to reach when you were done showering.

You turned on the water before entering. You took a quick shower and were done in no time. Before going to bed, you brushed your teeth and combed your hair. But you haven't yet fallen asleep. You were going to stay up until Goo got there so you could say goodnight to him as well. But you were exhausted. You decided to stay up until 11:00 p.m. and then go to bed if he didn't show up. You squandered the time by fiddling with your phone. You messaged your teammates, and they were all excited about the game the next day as well.

The time had quickly passed 10:40. You got ready for bed because you thought he wasn't going to show up. You had turned off all of the lights in your room and were snuggled up in your blanket. However, whenever you were half-asleep, you heard your room door open. Someone jumped into your bed and crawled under the covers with you. When you smelled the familiar scent of cologne and sunshine, you knew it was Goo.

"Are you awake, Y/n?" He whispered. You didn't answer and instead dug your face deeper inside your pillow. He took that as a no and sighed. You felt arms wrap around your shoulders and pull you closer to him. "Goodnight." He said before his eyes closed gently. Before long, you could hear soft snoring. Shortly after you fell asleep too.
