"Do you like him?"
The question played over and over in your head. It had gotten to the point where you were debating whether or not you liked him.
Did you?
The two of you started hanging out more often. Almost everyday. Sometimes it was at the arcade or sometimes you went to visit Jerry. You went to the same middle school as him, so it was often that you and Iseul would walk home with him.
It was beginning to get frustrating, though. Since Iseul started hanging out with you his popularity began getting bigger. Some girls had to admit that he was pretty attractive. You didn't like the feeling of bitterness it gave you when other girls were obviously flirting with him. Your temper begin to get more explosive with each passing minute.
"Iseul, do you wanna sit with us at lunch today?"
"Iseul, tutor me after school. Just the two of us, though."
"Iseul, blah blah blah."
It was aggravating for the most part. He'd smile bashfully and excuse himself.
"Sorry, I'm hanging out with Y/n today."
It was the only thing that kept you calm. When he stated that to other people, you would always secretly cheer in your head. You knew it was petty, but you couldn't help but smile when you saw their happy expression fall and the apprehensive look they'd give you. You would merely give them a passing glance before returning to your conversation with a friend.
Speaking of which, it appears that you have made a new acquaintance. You and Jerry had become friends since that day you went to check out Hostel with Gun. You always greeted him in the morning and encouraged him to join you and Iseul for lunch. Jerry didn't seem to bother Iseul, and the two of them always got along. You'd formed a trio.
"Iseul and Jerry, I'll see you tomorrow!" As the three of you parted ways, you called out. You turned around and continued on your way home, waving wildly goodbye to them. Gun had always volunteered to pick you up from school, but you had always preferred to walk home with your friends, so you declined. Even if it meant catching the bus home. You walked in and sat down in an empty chair.
There were only a few people aboard the bus. You took out your phone to see if anything new had appeared. When you saw a fresh message from Iseul, a slight smile appeared on your lips. You read whatever he said after tapping on his notice.
Iseul: Get home safe! ^3^
You fawned over his message. 'Aw, he's so cute!' You blushed. You quickly replied,
you: ofc i will! did you already get home yet?
He didn't immediately respond. After a few minutes, you realized he was probably studying or doing something important. You sighed and reached into your pocket for the wired headphones. Before inserting the earbuds into your ears, you connected them to your phone. You chose a playlist at random and pressed the shuffle button. You leaned back in your chair and looked up at the ceiling.
When the vehicle hit a rock in the road, your body shook. Your head rolled around in the gravel that appeared to be centuries old. Because the road was rough, you assumed this. It wasn't long before you were back at your house.
"I'm back!" As you pushed open the door, you exclaimed. "Y/n, welcome back!" To greet you, an apron-clad Goo entered the living room. You snickered as you examined his attire. "You look like a mom." You burst out laughing. "Guess that makes Gun the dad." You added. Gun simply grunted and went back to looking over some papers in his hands. You sat down next to him. "What are you preparing?" You called out to Goo.
"Wait and see!" He yelled from the kitchen. 'At long last, anything other than takeaway.' You gave yourself a self-congratulatory smile. You turned on the television and chose a show at random. You hummed along to the opening lyrics and tilted your head side-to-side to the beat. You tapped mindlessly away at your phone. Praising your teammates for their hard work at practice, telling your classmates that you couldn't wait to see them tomorrow, anything to spend time until dinner arrived.

You lay awake, staring blankly up at your ceiling's stick-on fluorescent stars. You didn't get a message from Iseul all evening. He almost slipped your mind until Jerry messaged you and mentioned the boy briefly. You dragged your hand down your face and turned onto your side. You gazed intently at your phone, as if you were a psychic compelling Iseul to message you. You expected at the very least a goodnight message.
You assumed it couldn't be avoided. Perhaps he was preoccupied with something. You gave a worried smile. He couldn't possibly be ignoring you, could he? You were thinking frantically. You sighed and tucked your phone beneath your pillow. You let your rage get the best of you. If he won't message, you reasoned, I won't either!
Although, that didn't happen, because a couple minutes later you told him goodnight.
