It had already been 2 weeks since your ex girlfriend broke up with you and things in your life still weren't back to normal. You were hardly eating or showering or even getting out of bed and getting through the day was a struggle. Today was no different, you were laying down on the couch binging shitty rom-coms and eating junk food when suddenly the doorbell rang.
You waited for a moment in hopes that whoever was there would leave but they simply rang the bell again. With a groan you lifted yourself off of the couch and trudged over to the front door. Through the frosted glass you could see the oh so familiar silhouette of your best friend Jisoo.
You furrowed your brow, what was she doing here? You hadn't spoken to any of your friends since your ex dumped you. Full of curiosity, you opened the door to see Jisoo standing there with two brown paper bags from the grocery store in her hands.
"Jisoo?" You asked, "What are you doing here?" She sent you a smile and squeezed past you, placing the grocery bags on the table by your front door before turning to you, "Well... you weren't answering my calls or texts so I figured you were still sad which calls for a night full ofcuddles and sleepover" Your eyes widened and you stumbled over your next words,"I-I... I really wasn't expecting company....."
Jisoo chuckled as she looked around your living room that was littered with dirty dishes, empty take out boxes and half empty water bottles, "I could tell it. Don't worry about the mess, you go take a shower and I'll clean up out here." You opened your mouth to protest but she cut you off,
"It's okay Y/N, you don't need to worry, I really don't mind doing it. Now go take a shower and by the time you get out I'll have everything set up out here." You didn't know what to say so you just smiled at her and nodded your head, and made your way to the bathroom.
You closed the bathroom door and twisted the lock before stripping your clothes off. You turned on the shower and stepped under the hot stream of water, letting a sigh of relief slip past your lips. It had been too long since you'd had a nice shower and it sure did feel good. You grabbed the shampoo and applied a liberal amount to your head before massaging it in.
As you washed your hair you began to think about Jisoo and how much she meant to you. She was always such a good friend who had always treated you with respect and been there for you. You felt a smile grace your features as Jisoo filled your mind, a familiar warmth spreading across your body. Jisoo always made you feel this way, she was just so kind and sweet and beautiful and... perfect.
You rinsed the shampoo out of your hair and began washing your body, Jisoo still on your mind. As the sweet smell of your body wash filled your nostrils you found yourself being reminded of the expensive perfumes Jisoo was always wearing, the ones that you absolutely loved.
She always smelled so good, like the most precious flower and like the cherry chapstick she always wore. Her lips looked so soft and you found yourself wondering what they tasted like, what they would feel like against your own. You rinsed your body, wondering why you were thinking about Jisoo so much when it suddenly hit you, it had been her all along.
Jisoo was the one who you were in love with, not your ex. She was the one who treated you with kindness and who made you feel special, she was the one whose arms you wanted to be wrapped up in, and she was the one whose perfectly shaped lips you wanted to taste. At this realization you sighed, you should've realized it was Jisoo all along.
Not knowing what to do with this new found information, you decided to keep it to yourself. It was too much of a possibility that Jisoo didn't feel the same and ruining your friendship wasn't something you wanted to risk. You sighed and turned off the water, stepping out and drying your body before doing your skin care routine and drying your hair.
You stared at your fresh face in the mirror and smiled, feeling human for once. You stepped out of the bathroom and into your bedroom where you put on some fresh clothes. Now it was time to see what Jisoo had prepared for you.
"There you are!" Jisoo exclaimed as you walked in the living room. She had a big smile on her face upon seeing you and she immediately stood up from the couch, walking up to you and pulling you in for a hug. She pressed her lips to the top of your head and inhaled the scent of your shampoo,
" You smell so good." You felt a blush coat your cheeks and you pulled away to see Jisoo blushing too, a small smile on her face.
Jisoo looked you up and down and sighed contently, "There's my pretty girl. I've missed you so much these past two weeks. I'm glad we get to hang out tonight." You were much better now thanks to Jisoo, so you simply smiled, "I missed you too." Jisoo's eyes met yours and you could swear she was leaning in until she came to her senses and cleared her throat,
"Alright! Now it's time for a movie and snack marathon! I brought your favorites!" Yep, this was for sure the woman you were meant to be with. Jisoo set up Netflix and turned on a movie before plopping down on the couch and pulling you into her arms. She leaned forward and pulled out a box of Cheez Itz and a box of cookies from the grocery store bags,
"Okay, salty or savory?" You smiled and grabbed the box of cookies and Jisoo chuckled, "That's my girl." You knew it was simply platonic but you couldn't help the feeling in your heart when Jisoo said that. You opened the cookies and you both dug in as Jisoo wrapped her arms around your shoulders.
It was halfway through the movie and the couple was finally getting together when Jisoo looked at you and took her bottom lip in between her teeth, "Y/N?" She said, "Can I ask you something?" You nodded, engrossed in the movie so Jisoo continued, "Do you ever picture us like that?" You turned to her and looked at her curiously, "What do you mean Jisoo? Picture is like what?"
She looked into your eyes, "Like... romantically?" Your eyes widened and Jisoo shook her head, "J-just forget I said anything." You grabbed her face and turned it towards you, locking eyes with hers, "Like, you and I together?" Jisoo nodded slowly and you bit your lip.
"You deserve someone who values you, Y/N. And if I had the chance, I would love to do just that." Your heart soared in your chest and you licked your lips, "Jisoo?" You were so close together now you could hear each other's breathing, "Yeah?" You leaned in to where your lips were almost touching and whispered, "Kiss me. Please?"
As per your request Jisoo grabbed your face and pushed her lips to yours, sighing in contentment when she did so.
Your arms wrapped around her neck and she smiled into the kiss and pulled you onto her lap. You discovered that her lips tasted of cherry chapstick and were just as soft as they looked. Kissing her was the closest thing to heaven on Earth.
You both pulled away once breathing became a problem and rested your foreheads against each other's. "Wow," you muttered and Jisoo chuckled breathily. "Y/N?" You hummed in response and Jisoo pressed a kiss to the corner of your lips, "Be mine?" You smiled and kissed her lips again, "You know what I realized today in the shower Jisoo?" She rose her brows, "It's always been you."
