CHAPTER 3 - Alexandra's POV

Marco waits behind me as I enter the room, and slowly closes the door, leaving me alone with the 3 men. The room in question is done up in dark woods and velvet, as it is mostly used for our "posher" clients. They all turn to look at me "The Raven, I presume?" The eldest of the three questions "you presume correctly" I respond. There is a brief pause then the second one speaks up "you're British?" "No, I'm Chinese. What does it sound like?" he clears his throat "sorry". Man number 1 speaks up again "I'm Leonardo, this is Riccardo" he gestures toward the idiotic one "and this is Alexander" They look strangely like me. Especially Alexander. Hmm. I nod "so what did you want to talk to me about?" I question.

"Well, you fought Riccardo this evening and we were surprised that you managed to beat him. As I'm sure you've already been told by Mr Polo we were here this evening to scout out some fighters, and you were the only one who managed to show legitimate talent" "yes, Marco did share that with me, however I'm still unaware of why you want to talk to me" they all share a look and there is silence for several seconds.

"We would like to offer you an opportunity to use your... skills for us. You will be paid more than you earn here, and it will be more of a... professional situation." I think about this offer for a quiet moment "How permanent would this job be?" I ask. They again share a look and then 'Leonardo' answers "well, it would be relatively permanent. You would need to stay with us for at least several years before we could let you go"

Yeaaahhh... no. When you're trying to avoid CPS it's... difficult to maintain a constant place of living, so it's entirely possible that I won't *be* here for a couple of years. Plus, I wouldn't be able to help Marco out. And they seem like the kind of people who wouldn't take people dropping off the map very lightly "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to decline your offer".

'Leonardo' narrows his eyes slightly. Not a good sign. "Is there anything we can do to change your mind?" he asks shortly "no" "alright then, thank you for your time" he holds out his hand to shake and I reach out with my own. We both nod and 'Alexander' rings the bell to let Marco know we're done. "thank you for allowing us to use your room mr Polo" "it is no problem, mr Rossi" he responds with a smile and a handshake.

Wow... ok that was an uneventful and kind of boring chapter, but I suppose it important to the progression of the story? I don't know... tbh I still have no idea what I'm doing... yeah.

Anyways, feedback is (as always) appreciated :)

Sincerely, still a great big hunk of trash
