2012, 𝚊𝚐𝚎 𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚢-𝚝𝚠𝚘Well, I'm 22 now. As of, yesterday. Now that I'm older and have been in civilization for three years, I'm hoping Fury or Natasha will give me bigger missions, but I'm not holding my breath. I have done some missions though. Every time there is a foreign person that is either taken into custody or protected, they call me in. Whenever they resuce a tortured person or someone coming back from a traumatic event, I turn into a therapist. I still see Sarah almost every day, and of course I still live with Nat. Clint has a wife and two kids, but only Natasha and I are privelged enough to know.
"Agent Romanoff Junior?" (I'm refered to as an agent as of a year and a half ago!) My boss/great friend, Maria Hill said to me as she approached my desk while I was translating a report from German to English.
"Hill, what can I do for you?" I asked, looking up from my computer for the first time in an hour.
"Fury wants to see you. Something about our new recently defrosted friend." She said, sending me a wink.
"I'll get the ice if he's too warm." I said as I shut off my computer and stood up.
"You're something else, Les." Maria said with a smile.
"Only with people who call me Les." I said as I walked off to Fury's office.
The walk to Fury's office was quick, but it gave me enough to time to think. What did Steve Rogers need, and what did it have to do with me?
I knocked on the door, and heard the deep voice telling me to come in. I sat across from the Director, who had his hands folded on top of his desk.
"Director?" I asked quietly. He still made me nervous.
"Sorry, Agent. I was just figuring out how to word this." He said, not easing my words in the slightest.
"Word what, sir?" I asked.
"You've heard of the Avengers Initiative, I'm sure." He said. I nodded. "We need you to recruit someone for us. If you agree, go see Agent Coulson. He'll brief you." He continued.
"Who, sir?" I asked, getting a little excited.
"Steve Rogers. But there's a catch." He sad. I grew very confused.
"Sir?" I said, my eyebrow raised.
"You can't use your real name. We can't risk anyone finding out, kid." Fury said.
"Finding out what?" I asked. "What's going on?" I asked, growing nervous.
"Natasha didn't tell you, did she?" He asked me.
"Clearly not. Director, please tell me." I almost begged.
"When you were taken by the Red Room in 1995, they reported you dead. Every bad organization in the world wanted you, the little girl who could control nature. They could work on you in peace, without having other people breathing down their necks. When Natasha got you out three years ago, she decided to keep you dead. It was safer, she believed, to have the world believing that you were gone. She wants to keep it that way. I'm sorry, kid. I thought you knew." Fury finished with as much sympathy as he could muster.
"It's okay, sir. And yes, I'll talk to Mr. Rogers. Excuse me." I said quickly, walking out the door and down to the med wing to talk to Sarah.
"Sarah? Sarah, are you here?" I said as I walked into her office, seeing her and a man, getting very close, on her desk.
"Jesus Christ, Alessia! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" Sarah said as she jumped off her desk.
"Sorry, I'm sorry. I'll just go." I said, trying to keep the tears in as I turned to leave.
