"Dude, we've been walking for like two days, where are we going?" I asked Bucky while we were walking the streets of Bucharest.
Bucky and I recently arived in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Allegedly, we were going to be staying here, but we've been aimlessly walking for a long time. After nearly a week of travel, all I wanted was to lay in a bed and die. That was dramatic, but, what can I say? Life sucks.
"From what I remember, you wanted to come." Bucky retorted from next to me, hands deep in his pockets.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, but that doesn't mean I want to walk the whole globe." I shot back, running a hand through my blonde locks as I walked with Bucky.
We kept walking, and soon enough, we came up upon a large marketplace.
Bucky stopped, suddenly in front of a vendor selling fruits. "What's up?" I asked him, looking at him.
He looked at the vendor again, before turning to me. "Go over there and ask that man how to get to this location." Bucky instructed, handing me a piece of paper with an address written on it.
I took it from him, and looked at him quizzically. "Why me?" I asked.
Bucky looked uncomfortable, and started shifting on his feet. "I uh, I'm a little... Scared?" Bucky said nervously.
I sighed lowly. I know that Bucky has serious social anxiety, as he's afraid of being recognized. I understood, and it was my goal over our little getaway to help him cope with crowds.
In the meantime, though, I nodded and began walking over to the vendor, when Bucky grabbed on my arm and pulled me back.
"Dude! What now?!" I whisper shouted, very tired and cranky.
Bucky put a finger to my lips, silencing me. I was tempted to bite his finger, but I didn't. "I don't want anyone to recognize us. It'd be easier on us if you talked in a Russian accent. You are Russian right?" Bucky explained his plan.
I furrowed my brows. "I was raised in a Russian lab, so sure! Why would anyone recognize me?" I asked again, wanting answers.
Bucky sighed, and adjusted the cap on his head. "Let me walk you through a hypothetical." He said, adding to my confusion.
"A hypothetical..." I mumbled to myself, before he started talking.
"Okay. So, Natasha, gets mad that you left, sends people to look for you. Obviously, the Avengers would search the whole world to find you, so maybe they'd look here. It's a big city. I'm a wanted criminal, anyone can probably find me. Accents and acting causal are our best bet." Bucky explained, much to my delight and confusion.
I pursed my lips together. "You can't act casual." I pointed out, having spent enough time with the guy to know he sucks at that.
Bucky scoffed. "I am not." He defended himself.
"Have you looked in a mirror recently?" I retorted.
Bucky rolled his eyes, again. "You're being really annoying. Can you please use a Russian accent?" He asked with gritted teeth.
I smiled at patted Bucky's cheek, before walking over to the vendor.
I looked around for a bit, and bought a small bag of plums and some apples, before going to pay. I pulled out the Romanian money that Bucky and I transferred from American, and got ready to act the shit out of this.
