Marina One Shots

Surprise

Maya's pov
After 4x07 (Andrea died)

Carina finally succeeded to fall asleep for the first time in days. I was laying in bed beside her, stroking her hair as she slept.
Earlier today, i was seriously starting to worried and i didn't really know what to do. Im glad i took her to the station and got her to scream. 

I woke up with my arm around Carina's waist. I looked at the clock to see that it was already 11 am. I took my phone to search something on internet. I decided that if Carina is doing a little better and if she's able to leave the house, i should surprise her with something.

"Morning" I heard as i hide my phone from her. Fortunately, she didn't seem to notice.
"Morning babe" I responded with a smile. "How do you feel today" I asked, hoping she'll be okay to get out of the apartment.
"A little better, thanks to you" She said, giving me a quick kiss.
"Do you want to go somewhere today? I have a little surprise for you" I winked at her.
"Sure bella!" She said excitedly.
"Im gonna go make us sandwiches while you get dressed ok?" She nodded.

We finished eating and Carina went in the bathroom to put some makeup while i finished washing the dishes. I had to put some too so i walked through the door and found Carina crying in front of the mirror.
I hugged her from behind and turned her around so she could look at me.
"I know baby. I know" I said, hoping she wouldn't push me away like before.
Surprisingly, she hugged me and, after a while, i asked her if she still wanted to go out. I was relieved when she said yes, knowing that my surprise would help her a little.
"Okay let's get in the car then baby" I said as soon as she stopped crying. I took her hand and led her at my car.

I drove with one hand on her thigh. I traced pattern with my fingers, wanting to distract her from her thoughts. After 10 minutes, we arrived at a mall and she looked at me confused.
"Come on" I said smiling.
I hold her hand as we made our way to the pet store. I saw her smiling through her mask as she noticed where i was taking her. 

I guided her to the dog's section and showed her the one that i found on internet. His name was August and he was 2 years old. I knew Carina would love him and i was right. An employee let us play with him a little and Carina was already in love.
"Should we get him home" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yes pleasee" She responded before kissing me.

We made our way back at the apartment and settled August's things in the living room. When he fell asleep, Carina joined me on the couch and put her head on my shoulder.
"Thank you bambina. I love him" She said.
"I love you baby" I responded, happy that she's finally smiling again.
"I love you too bella" She whispered, closing her eyes.
