The summer holidays had just started this morning, and Regulus was standing at Kings Cross with James and Sirius, waiting for James' parents. Regulus had been at the Potters manor for every holiday the previous year, and also hung out more with the Mauraders and their friends. Regulus birthday was in a few days, he would turn fifteen. He wasn't that exited but James and Sirius wouldn't shut up about it.

"There they are!", James said, as soon as he spotted his parents. The three of them pushed their carts into their direction and when they stood in front of the Potters, they got the usual greetings, a big hug and, "how are you?", from Mrs. Potter, and a handshake and, "good to see you.", from Mr. Potter.

The five of them now walked through the wall, with their owls and carts, no muggle was looking for their sake, and walked towards the car. They filled the cases into the back and Sirius and James parents brought the carts away, James and Regulus sat in the car, waiting for them. "So..", James Said awkwardly, "So?", Regulus blushed, he didn't know why. He just felt slightly uncomfortable around James lately. James scratched the back of his head, but before he could say anything else, Sirius opened the car door and sat down next to him.

The three of them had even less space in the back then the last few times, because Regulus had grown, at least five inches. He was now taller than Sirius and James, not that much at James but he was two inches taller than Sirius, and he used that in the best way he could.
James and Regulus bumped into each other a lot while driving. Which made Regulus apologies often, but after the fifth time he stopped, because it seemed useless to him.

They arrived later and Regulus and Sirius got their usual rooms again. Regulus was unpacking, while Mrs. Potter cooked because, "you three had been on the train for so long."

Later they all ate together and when they were done, they first sat at the table to talk about how the school was and that the new school year would start in six weeks. After that Regulus went upstairs, he got ready for bed and actually wanted to sleep, because he was quite tired earlier. But when he laid in bed, he just couldn't stop thinking. About James.

James made him so uncomfortable, he always blushed when he realised he was staring to much, or caught James staring at him, or when James said something slightly teasing. He also had this wired feeling in his stomach when ever they were together or James just crossed his mind. Sometimes he would even start stuttering around him. Which was embarrassing, but James didn't seem to care.

'What the hell is wrong with me?', Regulus thought. The longer he thought about it, the more clear it got to him. He slapped a hand over his mouth. He fancied James fucking Potter. His brothers best friend. A fucking Stag animagus. The guy he actually hated in first year. "Oh Merlin, why?", Regulus cried out dramatically. There were many reasons. James laugh, his smile, the look in his eyes, the way he got exited over little things, the way his curles closed around his hand, when he pulled it through his hair, the way he flew on a broom and mostly caught that snitch, the way he talked, the way he walked, the peaceful look on his face when he slept-, 'what am I thinking here?!', Regulus broke the list of things he liked about James.

Despite the fact he just figured out he was crushing on James, Regulus decided to play it off. He just tried to act normal next to James. And to be honest it went pretty well, for the first few days. They played quidditch in the garden, Regulus painted under a tree and when James would sit next to him and ask what he had drawn, Regulus would show him the different plants, animals or just characters he imagined from books and James would actually find them "cool" or "lovely".

They had been in the Potters manor for four days now already, and when Regulus awoke on the fifth day, he would have forgotten it was his birthday, if there wasn't his brother and James standing in the room shouting "Happy Birthday, Regulus!", as soon as he opened his eyes. Regulus blinked confused and then gave the boys a tired grin. He rubbed his eyes and stood up.

"Come on, let's go downstairs James parents are waiting.", Sirius said. Regulus just nodded. He was still tired. Downstairs there was a cake on the table, it was in a sage green colour. And around it were a few presents. Regulus smiled. "Happy birthday, sweetie.", Mrs. Potter said and hugged him tight. "Happy birthday boy", Mr. Potter also said and patted Regulus on the back as soon as his wife let go of him.

They had cake and coffee for breakfast, it was good. And when they had finished and brought away the dishes,James made Regulus open his presents. Regulus had already planned to meet up with Barty and Pandora the next day, so there weren't any presents from them.

The first present Regulus unpacked was from Lily, she had bought him a muggle-Greek-Mythologie book again. It was called "the song of Archilles". Mr. And Mrs. Potter had bought him a time turner which was very cool and useful because he had signed up in way to many subjects for the next year. From James he got another book and a liquid luck potion. Sirius had bought him some more jewellery. Peter had given Regulus muggle water paints. From Remus Regulus got a book that had empty pages, so he could use it for sketching or just his thoughts. And the last present was from Severus, he gave him a few crystals, all with healing or soothing powers. Regulus was very thankful. And decided to send out letters as soon as he was up in his room again.
He was now 15.
