"Do you wanna like to go for a quick swim?" I asked Jake after the game.
"You need to limit how you go to that river babe, it's not safe," He said.
"Why are you like this na, it's just a little swimming. And besides, you're gonna be there na" I whined.
"I don't know babe, I'm just trying to protect you" He placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Please, pretty please" I pleaded.
"You're so stubborn" He sighed.
"Does that mean we're going?" I asked in anticipation.
"On one condition" He raised his index finger.
"Which is" I rolled my eyes.
"You ain't gonna swim," He said.
"Again," I whined. "You never allow me to swim, Why?"
"Cause it dangerous, and you're my responsibility" He looked concerned.
I breathed out and said "Okay na."

"I just love this water, it's so warm," I said.
"Yea sure" He mumbled.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"It's nothing, just missing Jerome," He said.
"Aww, such a caring brother. Even with how annoying he is, you still miss him" I cooed.
He chuckled. "If he was here, he could have been so adamant on me buying him chocolate or ice cream. You remind me of him" He said.
"I remind you of your little brother, do you mean I'm childish?" I raised a brow.
"Exactly" He chuckled.
I frowned.
"But, that's why I love you," He pinched my cheek. "I love childish girls, they remind me of my young self and my brother" He smirked.
"Hmm okay oo"
"Hey, Jakey boy" An annoying familiar voice called from behind.
"Jennifer, what do you want now?" I rolled my eyes.
"I wasn't talking to you whore, I was talking to my Jake," She said nonchalantly, making her jobless minions cackle like chickens.
Sometimes I wonder, what's the job of these ugly girls? fine, dem no fine, book dem no know, their only job is to follow their wor wor leader like goats.
"Don't you dare call her a whore again" Jake snapped at her.
"Isn't that what she is. She and her useless sister" The slut said.
"Aunty, before you go around insulting people, better check yourself because clearly, you are the one who look like a useless whore" I challenged her.
"Are you talking to me?" She said aloud, hitting her chest.
"Nooo it's you twin there" I voiced out the sarcasm.
"Is like you don't know who you're messing with, this little bitch" She said and hit my head.
I couldn't take it anymore, I stood up and tried to hit her back but Jake held my hand.
"Just ignore her, she doesn't worth our time, let's just leave," He said and dragged me.
"Aswear, if it wasn't for Jake eh, I for beat you blue and black here. Weak bastard" I said and left there.
"Why would you answer her?" Jake asked as soon as we left the idiot and her cows there.
"What do you expect me to do, allow her insult me," I said in a questionable manner.
"No and yes. My mom always tells me each time I'm in a heated argument with my elder sister or with any of my annoying cousins, she'll always say, and I quote 'each time your sister insults you don't talk back at her because silence is the best answer to a fool' and that's what I always do" He explained.
"But it's hard to just sit there and swallow all the insult," I said.
"I know babe, I know. But you have to cool down, okay" He placed his forehead on my forehead.
"I love you," He said.
"I need a kiss" I pressed my lips together.
"A kiss?" He asked, trying to muffle his laughter.
"What, why are you laughing na?" I pouted.
"I'm just surprised cause the Laura I know would never ask for a kiss so boldly" He let out a chuckle.
"You just made me regret why I asked you for a kiss" I folded my arm and frowned.
"Oya I'm sorry na, my strawberry cupcake" He held my waist.
"Leave me joor, and what kind of nickname is that?" I scrunched my face.
"The one I'm giving the loml" He wiggled his brows.
"Abeg get out" I hissed playfully.
"Oya let's have that kiss," He said and bent low.
Yeah, he's taller than me.
"I don't want again, lemme alone" I pouted.
"Nooo, I must kiss you oo," He said.
"Is it by force?" I asked.
"Yes, it's by force, by fire by force" He held my waist tight.
"Fireboy, abeg free me" I wiggled my waist to get freed.
"No"
"I'll shout rape oo" I threatened.
"How can a boy rape his girl" He gasped.
"Free me"
"Okay you want me to go ba," He said.
"Yes"
"Okay," He said and turned to leave.
"And you want to go, come na" I said.
"You've chased me, you broke my heart" He placed his hand on his chest feigning hurt.
"Come let me fix the heart," I said.
"Oya fix" He came back and wrapped his hand on my waist again.
I wrapped my own hand on his neck and pulled him closer, making our lips join.
"Now that's the spirit," He said and pressed his lips to mine again.
"I love you" I whispered.
"I love you more," He said in a husky voice.
We kissed again.
