We were in the tower sitting in the living room watching tv and just talking when Steve walked in with a man who Jc knew to be one of Steve's friends from the 40s James. "Hello everyone this is one of my very good and old friends Bucky Barnes." The man who she now know goes by Bucky waves a small wave but doesn't say anything which she understood considering he was against some of them just last year. They all wave and then Steve speaks again "He will be staying here for the near future so I'd like you all to make him feel welcome." "Do you have to give a speech every time you speak capsickle?" of coarse it was Stark walking in the room "Don't be an ass Stark we all know you have mommy and daddy issues by now." he looked at Jc with a straight face " Remember I keep a roof over all of your heads." waving a finger in the air in a circle "Not anymore if you forgot we're moving in to the compound tomorrow which is something you don't own." even though he did pay for the lawn care and some other stuff "Whatever." With that he walked away like he always does when he knows he's been proven wrong. "Ignore him he's a big man child, I'm Jc." she stood and stuck out her hand for him to shake he looked at it for a second before he shook it "Bucky will actually be staying on your floor at both places Jc so can you give him a tour?" "Yea of coarse follow me." he walked slowly behind her looking at Steve to make sure this was safe and he gave him a quick nod with a smile. She noticed a look in his eyes that said he wasn't quite comfortable with this but he didn't want to say anything. " You know I'm not going to tell anyone if you speak right? and I'm certainly have no room to judge you for your past so you can relax for a second." he looks at her and then smiles just a little "Thank you." he mumbles its a mumble but its something. She gave him a tour of the tower not going into the Stark industries area and only where they stay and then finally showing him his room.
"This is your room it's right across from mine but don't worry the walls up here are sound proof." he looks at her with a smirk and she finally realized what she said. "No not like that I mean if you get nightmares or anything its ok but F.R.I.D.A.Y will alert me if you do, it does that in all the rooms though." "Oh ok so if I have one you'll know?" "Yes but if you don't want it to or don't want me to wake you up you can ask F.R.I.D.A.Y to deactivate it." "No its fine thank you." "Yea no problem if you need anything I'll be right across the hall." he gave her a small nod and walked into his room. Jc walked into her room and began to reread one of her favorite books Pride and Prejudice she had read it a million times but it never got old and each time she noticed something new. After about two hours of reading she heard a knock on her door "Come in." after about two seconds the door opened to reveal Bucky and he had The Hobbit in his hands it was a first addition Jc had gotten from her grandmother as a young girl. "Is this one of the first copies they made?" "Uh yea my grandmother gifted it to me have you read it?" "Yes I read it when it first came out, do you mind if I borrow it?" "No you're find any of the books in the library are yours too. The best place to read for me is the library the couches in there are amazing." "Ok I will thank you." he walked out with a smile on his face and she went back to reading.
After about 4 more hours she noticed the time was just a little pasted 7:00 so she went to the kitchen to make dinner when she thought he might be hungry so she made a little extra knowing how big Steve's apatite was she laughed at the thought. Once she was done it was just simple spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce she got bowls out and went to his room to tell him. As she knocked she suddenly got nervous which confused her but she heard a mumbled come in and opened the door. " Hey um I made dinner if you want some its just spaghetti but I didn't know if you've eaten today." he looked at her and then spoke "Uh yea I'll be out in a second thank you." About 5 minutes later he walked out and got his food just as she thought he had the same apatite as Steve, he sat down at the bar two seats away from her and began eating they ate in silence before she spoke "How do you like the book?" "It's good reminded me of my time in the 40s." "Do you ever miss it? What your life was like back then I mean." "Yea all the time I miss the dancing, my family, and my war buddies and sometimes I think they should be here and not me but you know you can't pick and chose who gets to live and who dies." he looks at her for a second before she speaks "I get that but you can't blame yourself for surviving you all did what you had to do and you chose to fight and that's what you did you fought and you survived, I'm sure any of those men would be proud that you fought for so long and would want you to keep living." he looks at her and then down at his arm and his emotions finally look calm and relaxed not like a soldier but like a human.
