The Haldi Ceremony-
The preparations for the events were in full swing. Aroma of jalebis and other sweets could be smelt.

The Mayoun was an all ladies function, with the Mehndi being split in to two events the next day.

In the morning it would be Faris' Mehndi and in the evening it would be Mehreens Mehndi plus Dholki.

Coming to the Mayoun ceremony, the event was ready and the guests would arrive any time soon.

After a while, the guests had arrived. The haldi was just to be with close family and friends whereas the Mehndi and other functions was to be celebrated with many.

Both Ismat and Nuzhat were ready and walked to Mehreens room. Mehreen was told to stay in her previous room. After a lot of convincing she agreed.

Mehreen had become attached to their room. The smell of his perfume lingered in the air every morning and she would sometime sneakily spray some on her clothes.

The bride was a sight to see. Cladded in a yellow jora, she looked magical. Mahajbeen sneakily captured a picture and sent it to Faris.

Nuzhat and Ismat stood by Mehreen and brought her down the stairs into the main hall. Mahajbeen and Alysha alongside with Mehreens friends Dua and Shifa threw petals whilst she entered. Girls of her age were either praising her or jealous of how she got the man of their dreams.

Dadi Jaan sat next to Mehreen and kissed her on the forehead. Mahajbeen made Mehreen wear flower bracelets and the ceremony started with a bang.

Mehreens friends and her maternal cousins constantly teased her with Faris' name making the bride blush red.

Ubtan was smeared on her face and arms. Mehreen was fed with sweets and blessed by the elders with duas.

Music blared the hall with girls dancing and the elders clapping. The functions were certainly to be remembered.

Faris' Mehndi-

Faris cursed himself for wanting the festivities to happen. He just wanted his wife with him in his arms. He missed her for many days and tried to phone her, but she would always decline his calls because she was forbidden from talking to him.

Faris was only allowed to enter the house today due to his Mehndi taking place. He took this as an advantage because he thought he would be able to successfully meet her. But, he was so wrong.

Faris got ready and his friends came to collect him. On the way to the haveli they would constantly tease him with him glaring at them occasionally. Deep down, he was enjoying their banter.

Once entering the house, Faris was made to sit on the stage. Oil was smeared in his hair and the fight between the cousins and friends began.

Voices of people laughing echoed around the hall as the Groom ran away from his friends who chased him with the oil and other liquids to throw at him.

Once the fight finished, Faris was ordered to clean himself and take a shower. He entered his room and bathed himself. Coming out, he smiled looking at the room, remembering the memories he and Mehreen made.

Remembering Mehreen he decided to go to her room. It was his only chance. Coming out of the room he silently walked to Mehreens room and entered the room.

Whispering her name, he heard no response. Sighing in disappointment, he returned outside only to be stopped by two people.

Ahmed Khan and Mohsin.

'Bakhurdar Kahan jaa raheh the aap'. Looking at the man in front of him, Faris nervously laughed and said

'Kahin nahi Chacha mein kahan jaoun ga. Bas ghar ki sair kar raha tha'.

Ahmed Khan looked at him and said 'Ghar ka sair kar liyah hai toh, ab aap jaayein yahan se'.

Faris looked at him and with hope said 'Chacha, mein Mehreen se mil sakta hun'.

Ahmed Khan looked at him with a glint in his eyes and said 'Haan, Zaroor. Lekin Baraat aaneh ke baad mil sakteh ho'.

Faris whined and on the orders of his Father, Mohsin was told to kick Faris out.

Faris glared at Mohsin but Mohsin was finally happy that he was able to do something to him. Smiling sweetly at him, Mohsin grabbed Faris' arm and pushed him outside the house.

Evening Function-

Mehreen was told to stay in her parents room in the morning because the family knew that Faris would pull such a stunt.

As Mehreen was getting ready, Mahajbeen and Alysha barged in the room laughing their heads off like maniacs.

Mehreen looked at them weirdly and they sobered up. Mahajbeen looked at Mehreen and told her the story of how Faris tried entering her room only to be caught by her father and brother.

Hearing this Mehreen laughed and felt bad for him. She shook her head and carried on getting ready.

As soon as she was done, the Makeup artists left and Alysha strolled to Mehreen and said,
'Haeee Bhabhi Jaan, aap toh bilkul pari ki tarah lag rahi hain. Bhai aapko dekhteh hi Fidah ho jateh'. Mehreen blushed hearing the compliment and whispered a small thanks.

Once taking a picture of her, both Mahajbeen and Alysha brought her downstairs. The function was vibrant with a mixture of  colourful decoration and relatives dancing to hit songs.

Mahajbeen and Alysha joined the stage and danced elegantly to their favourite songs whilst others cheered for them.

Mehndi artists came to apply henna on everyone.

Soon it was time for the bride to have her henna done.

Once the Mehndi artists applied Henna on Mehreen, the women began to sing songs bringing a lively atmosphere in the hall.

Towards the end, the artist asked whose name she should right. All the girls shouted Faris once again making the bride blush.

The Mehndi artist hid his name on her ring finger.

Once the Mehndi event came to a closure, Mehreens mum helped her change out of her clothes and told her to rest.

Mehreen sat on her bed and reminisced all the moments she had spent with him and couldn't wait to make many more memories with him.

Looking at her Mehndi cladded hands, she smiled like a crazy woman awaiting for the next day to come.
