A sea of scarlet roared like the fierce lions prominent on their flashy red and gold flags , wildly waving for their smaller yet swifter players who were caught in a rough game with the Slytherins.

'The score is 100 to 150,'' commented fourth year, Emmeline Vance as chaser ,Tessa Lauren scored the quaffle.'And...Merlin's Beard!'

A collected gasp rang from the crowd as the seeker, Stewart Charles was 'accidently' knocked from the sky by the burly Slytherin chaser crashing into his cleansweep. He would have seriously injured if not Gryffindor beater, Indigo Firefly had caught him mid-plummet .Madame Hooch blew her whistle and allowed Luca Finlay to bring the game to an even two hundred.

When stars had faintly aroused themselves from the darkening sky, the Gryffindor team hoisted their successful seeker into the air, Indigo commencing a celebration in their common room.

'The game was bloody excellent' Delphi said 'Emmeline's commentary was very educational, I learned loads of new choice words'

A few paces behind Pandora and Delphi a voice said 'So conveniently forgot about the bet?'

Delphi turned to see Sirius, James, Remus and Peter, all sporting Gryffindor scarfs.

'I'll meet you in the common room,' Delphi said before turning to talk to the four boys. 'I can grab a carton of eggs from the kitchen for our Ovamancy experiment'

'I'll prepare the papers and quills then' Pandora said cheerfully before departing for their common room.

When she stood to face the four boys Delphi gave them a mischievous smirk remembering their bet on the turnouts of the Quidditch match.

'Half an hour after curfew, library' she said before following Pandora.

'Yes' James exclaimed 'This pranks gonna be one for the records!'

In the Ravenclaw common room, Delphi and Pandora had come up with half a scroll of predicaments before swarms students began to retire to their common rooms. Nearing their curfew Delphi bid a yawning Pandora goodnight, tidying up the broken egg shells and reading the muggle book that Dirk had recommended to kill the time in the empty common room before her watch struck the time for her to meet her Gryffindor friends.

When the time came she sneaked from the common room to the dark halls, with only her wand for light.Once in the library ,she saw they were yet to arrive and waited in a chair ,beaming in anticipation.

Suddenly out of the pressing darkness, she saw another light.Thinking it was them, Delphi approached the light before recognizing the chilling green eyes.Ducking behind a shelf, and slowly peaking at Asteria Foxglove, her heat skipped a beat when she saw Asteria's expression harden. Asteria knew she was being watched.Delphi saw her put down the book she was examining and pull her wand at the ready.

Then footsteps thudded form the carpet .Delphi trembled , witnessing a humanoid creature, as big as Hagrid appear from the darkness. From the gloom she made out one single eye.Asteria swiftly extinguished the light and ran from the giant, weaving between the shelves as Delphi's mouth fell open.

Then suddenly she felt a figure materialize besides her.A hand enveloped her mouth as Asteria put her fingers to her lip and signed for her to slowly follow her out the door.Delphi still feared for James, Sirius, Remus and Peter and made out to warn them but soon the two terrified first years had found they had backed right into the cyclops.Asteria thinking fast sent a curse his direction, making him bang against the wall. Before they knew it ,they were running for their lives in the castle's dark halls.

'Where do we go?' Delphi whispered-shouted urgently as they heard the cyclops not that far away ,howling for revenge.

'The common rooms, we'll have to take refuge there'

But on their way, they found Flinch and Mrs Norris patrolling their way .Asteria grabbed Delphi's wrist, leading her to a new direction.

'Would you rather get bashed over the head by it's club ?' Delphi cried hysterically.

'Better than getting expelled' Asteria retorted 'And I have an idea'

The cyclops lumbering at their wake Asteria lead them to a blank wall .Delphi thought she had gone mad when Asteria started sprinting form one side to the other, face twisted in concentration.Delphi's eyes widened as a door appeared out of nowhere. The cyclops was not in near sight, running towards them before the two ducked behind the door and Delphi and Asteria were facing the roaring winds of the starry night on a balcony that overlooked the grounds. They heard pounding on the doors.

'Get ready' Asteria warned, yanking Delphi to the side and like it had done before, the stretch of land granted her imagination as the heavy locked mass flew open and the cyclops unwittingly ran headfirst for them with great speed to find himself unable to slow himself from plummeting over the edge .Sure enough he splashed into the great lake, and like Delphi had read before, water from that high was as hard and deadly as concrete. When it hadn't resurfaced in a long time, they were sure it was dead.
