I was stopped in place in front of my door. I'm not sure why, but I had the impression that someone was watching me. Their gaze was intense, almost as if they saw something I didn't.
As I took a deep breath and mustered the confidence to turn around, sweat began to drip from my brow down to my chin.
I was surprised to find that I couldn't see anything. There was no one on my street, and I couldn't find anyone lurking in an alleyway or in the bushes.

I turned back and took out my house keys, which I inserted into the door lock and twisted to unlock the door before pushing it open.
As I slid my keys out and locked the door behind me, I felt a presence behind me and turned around to see who it was.
She wore a French maid headpiece and had long black hair that reached her knees. Her complexion was black, and her eyes were bright yellow.
She was dressed in a traditional French maid uniform with blue ribbons and lines on the skirt and the Millennium emblem on her arms, as well as long white stockings with the number "02" on her left hip and black maid high heels.

That's Karin. My personal attendant. She worked as a general maid in the home until I was born, when she was promoted to my personal attendant, catering me because my mother was too preoccupied to do so.
Karin: I've been awaiting your return, young master. How are you?
Karin bowed as I removed my bag and placed it on the floor, where she stepped up and picked it up.
Y/n: It was alright, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting though.
Karin: Is that so? Does it have poor standards then?
Y/n: Everywhere. I'm talking teachers, students and their behaviour, they're all poor.
Karin: I can recommend to Lady Ainsworth to allow you to switch schools if that's what you want.
Y/n: It's fine, I'll probably pass school with good grades anyway, there's no need for me to go through that process.
Karin: I see...
Y/n: Has Ciel come back yet?
Karin shook her head at me.
Karin: You were the first to get back.
Ciel hadn't returned yet, which surprised me, but then again, she had left me to go with her friends, so she may still be out.
Y/n: I see... well maybe she's still out getting to know the place, or knowing her she's probably shopping for some clothes.
