SOME PHYSICISTS BELIEVE that when you slap a table, there is a one-in-novemdecillion percent that the atoms in your hand and the table will miss each other completely, leading to your hand going straight through. Of course, a one-in-novemdecillion chance is practically zero, so most people don't need to worry about the inevitable 9-1-1 call when you find you're buried wrist-deep in wood (what? You thought it would go all the way?). In fact, you're more likely to be abducted by aliens, become an Avenger, and win the lottery all within the span of the week.

Cecelia Olivier seems to have missed that memo.

The freak accident at the West River Sioux Reservation may have left her an orphan at five years old, but it also awakened some strange abilities within her. Suddenly, with a little bit of concentration, that one-in-novemdecillion chance (that's a one followed by sixty zeroes, if you were wondering) is a lot higher. High enough, in fact, for her to go intangible at will.

The abilities that may have just been a parlor trick become a lot more when she is taken in and adopted by the Olivier family. It's not the Oliviers themselves that are the problem, though; no, that would be Uncle Richard, her mother's older brother and a coworker of one Adrian Toomes. Recruited for his organization, Cecelia quickly finds herself living an infuriating double-life: during the day, she is the perfect eldest daughter, while by night she is Phantom, stealer of alien technology and assistant manufacturer of deadly weapons. And although her uncle reminds her it's all for a good cause, it's not long before she becomes doubtful—especially when she gets to know New York's most infamous web-slinger himself.

Spider-Man may be Toomes' new Number One enemy, but can a guy in spandex who gives old ladies directions really be that bad? And can a man with a punishing hand in the name of "discipline" really be working for a good cause?
