"Y/N! Have you lost your damn mind!?" You could hear the footsteps become closer. You sat on a bench staring at the ocean, the wind brushing against your skin.
"Do you have any idea what you've done?" You stand up an walk around the bench where your grandfather stood glaring at you.
"I don't know what you are talking about." You say plainly.
He walks towards you, lifting his hand to hit you. As his hand comes down, inches from your face, you merely slap his hand away with such brute force that causes him to fall back.
"You failed your mission." Your grandfather mumbles as he stumbles to his feet.
"I didn't fail. I simply didn't do it." You walk past him, shoving his shoulder.
"Hydra isn't going to approve of this."
"Hydra?" You stop walking. "I don't remember Hydra giving me any orders on assassinating a fifteen year old kid." You walk towards him, he steps back.
"You're playing a very dangerous game here. How many missions have you sent me to do your dirty work? Assignments that aren't under Hydra?" You question more, you notice your grandfather's flared nostrils.
"This family has been known to be the most ruthless assassins. That will not stop-"
"Right. This family's stupid legacy of assassins." You cut your grandfather off. He just stares blankly at you. You smile as you take a step closer.
"You know, I noticed that this family is full of male assassins, no female. Funny how I'm the only one, as if this family's legacy is meant to die."
"You know this family has been Hydra's ally for centuries before you were born. Our allegiance is to them."
"I turned 18 already. I'm done with Hydra and this family." The look on your grandfather father's face was worth the pain you had been feeling for years.
"Fine. But before you go, I have one more assignment." Your grandfather sighs in frustration.
"Hydra? Or you?" You fold your arms.
"This is a Hydra mission. They want you to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D."
"Shield? Are you kidding me right now? No. Find someone else." You turn to walk away from him.
"They are holding information on where your father is." You freeze. Your father? You were told he was killed by Shield, now you're being told he's alive?
"What the hell are you talking about? My father is dead." You keep walking, but then you feel a tug on your arm.
"What do you think you've been training for, huh? What do you think your this whole time mission was? Are you truly that blind?" He grips your arm hard, causing you to kick him and pull him down to the ground with your knee on his back and holding his arm behind him.
"Just because we share the same blood, doesn't mean you have any right to put your hands on me. You may be my grandfather, but I do not respect you." You shove him away as you stand up. "You tell so many lies. I'll meet with Hydra to get the full story." You say, looking down at your grandfather in disgust.
Coming from a family of assassins will take a toll on someone. Growing up with knowing nothing but anger and violence, it will turn you heartless. But this isn't what you want. You may show fearless on the outside, along with anger. But you crave for so much more.
