Chancery - study room
~
Twenty-four hours had only passed and now you found yourself seated at your father's chancery same as your husband, discussing about important matters.
"What about her?" Dreykov asked, eyes fixated on his fellow king.
"Someone located her somewhere in North-East just by the Terrance mountain." Tony replied, as he listens intently while you were bothered with one question in your head.
"I don't get it," you spoke up and the men turned their look on you, eager to know the rest. "Why am I here?" You asked, "That's a bit rude, let me clarify it... May I ask why I am involved at this situation?" Raising your eyebrows at them seems to make a remarkable expression as your husband huffed and your father scoffed in amusement.
"You are her step-mother," your father retorted and you blinked in response. "That makes her your daughter-"
"In paper and in the eyes of many, I, however am not her mother or let alone her step-mother seeing as we have the same age." You cut him off confidently until your husband glared at you so you sat back in your chair.
"Age does not define your relationship with her, your spose is her father and no matter how you flip the card, you are her step-mother." Your father argued back with a very reasonable response.
"Stop the bickering before you create a fued in your father-daughter relationship." Dreykov interjects impatiently along with an eyeroll.
"There's already a fued." You mumbled to yourself but your father seems to catch it as he glared at you and heavily sighed.
"Your majesties," the herald, Mason, pops his head on the door as you all turned to look at him. "I'm sorry to interrupt but there is someone outside claiming that they had caught Princess Natalia and knows the exact location."
The three of you shared a look, strutting out of the room like childrens on Christmas day. You jogged ahead of them despite of the heavy gown and high heels that you were wearing, as if you were fond of the idea of her being found.
"Speak."
* * *
"No. Not her father!" You exclaimed as soon as you were alone with the king of Avalor.
"But she knows where she is, doesn't that what matters." He looked at you in the eyes.
You sighed dramatically. "God, why are you so eager to look for someone who has already been missing for years." You sounded irritated and he didn't like that reaction.
He pinched the bridge of his nose, containing in the anger so he woudn't shout at you. "Don't you get it, she's the heiress."
"You discussed this with mom?" and when he didn't response you scoffed, "So what if she's the heiress, what can she possibly provide us that the king couldn't?"
"Protection." He immediately answered, loud and clear.
"And the king can't give that to us?" The look you were giving him was skeptical but he ignored it.
"No, I don't trust him and you shouldn't to." His jaw was clenched, finger pointed at you as he spoke.
"He's my husband, of course I trust him." You sounded a bit taken aback and he scoffed.
"You don't, you keep telling yourself that but you don't."
"I do."
"You don't, Y/N." He warned.
"I do, father." You spoke the last part dangerously and you stared back at him as if it was a staring contest.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but King Dreykov is witing for your decission." The herald once again stated.
"Tell him we'll send her." Your father answered eyes never leaving yours.
"No." You added, eyes landing on Mason.
"But your highness-"
"Do as I say." You cut him off, but his eyes danced among your father.
"You're under me, you work for me, now follow my orders." The king greeted his teeth.
"He's working for me too." You reasoned.
"I hired him."
"I'm your daughter-"
"And I'm your father. Now Mason, do as I say."
"No!"
"Y/N, stop it-"
"There's no need to fight over the little things, I should be the one making a decision, she's my daughter after all," Dreykov butts in, walking towards the three of you. "It's done, I sent her, what was her name again?" He asked, eyebrows furrowing.
"Lady Kate." Dreykov nodded to your simple reply before walking off again to wander around the castle.
Your father looked at you. "Y/N, listen," he started calmly and you sighed. "There's a lost of things you don't know, and I can't tell them to you, you have to find out yourself."
You scoffed. "What, is this some kind of prophecy?" He glared at you as a response but his silence made a lot more sense. You swallowed thickly. "Do you know about it?" You questioned.
"Yes." He answered. "Do your best to look for what it is."
"I have something for you." His advisor cuts off, Stephen or Dr. Strange, whatever you prefer. He looks over at you, "your majesty."
You smiled. "No need to address me."
"I know, but it suits you better." He retorted before glancing at your father and nodded.
"I must go then," The king excused same as his advisor as they walked into his chancery.
