A WEEK LATER
You were very careful right? You did everything in your power so he wouldn’t find out the truth.
But then, you slammed the door of the guest room where you once were when the King threw you out of his chambers. You took in the most deepest breath of your life as you hold your neck with both of your hands, putting a slight pressure in it as it was slowly numbing itself.
He hit you again. And this time you almost died, and if you hadn’t got out of his chambers then you’d probably be cold dead on the floor with nothing but your naked body.
He was now outside the door, yelling your name and blabbering random things that goes in his mind, his screams was no help to the breathing you were trying to outrun. The tears from your eyes were trapped as you let the previous tears dry up in your cheeks.
The staff are probably sleeping by now seeing as it was past midnight and there was no one that was awake that could help you, nor someone that could make the king calm his nerves.
“Open the door woman!” He exclaimed and you covered your mouth to stop the sobs. He was banging the door at this time as your heart beat grew louder.
Your body sinks down on the floor, hugging your legs up to your chest, hopelessly praying that all of this madness would stop.
But then the biggest question pondered in your head, how did he find out that you were faking the pregnancy, who told him about your affair to his daughter? Who could possibly be able to snitch you to him. And then two people comes to mind, it’s either Natalia or Jules.
Natalia because she wants you gone in this kingdom, and Jules because she wants revenge for her father.

Morning came and you found yourself standing in front of your husband alone in the dining hall.
Both of your cheeks was still sore from the hitting last night, the left side of your lip was bruised and was now turning to purple-ish, your white dress was covered in blood that was coming from your upper arm.
You felt so small, so powerless under his gaze and you have nothing left in you the even fight him.
“You were lying to me,” he whispered closely, his face only inches from yours and you flinched. “And you know very well that I hate liars!” He half-yelled and you slightly stepped back.
His hand landed on your cheeks and you felt the sting arose again, your head was whipped to the side as your hair blanketed your bruised face. You fiddled with your hand in anxiousness as you steadied yourself for another hit, but thankfully it didn’t happen, and instead, he captured your chin in between his thumb and index finger, digging his fingers deeply and you hissed.
In your peripheral view caught an auburn hair and you knew who it was, and you didn’t want her here, but there was nothing you could now. Natalia watched.
Your eyes darted to him which was slightly narrowed while yours was pooling with tears. He dropped a single punch in your middle before dropping you and knocking you completely.Your world became dark as night, your body was sore and every inch -- every cell was in pain.

You wake up in an unfamiliar room, sweat dripping from your hairline, your breathing was a bit shallow as the pain kicks in again making you wince.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, everything’s okay,” you heard a soothing voice from your side as you turned to look who it was. “You’re safe here, you’re with me,” she added in shushed tone as your eyes darted to her green ones.
“Wha. . . what happened?” You stuttered out the words and she sadly smiled.
“You passed out,” was all she was able to say as she watched your face flood with fear. Your brain was slowly gathering what happened and all at once it hit you.
“Why. . . why am I here, I can’t be here, it’s not safe when you’re near me,” you panicked, standing up from the bed but you failed as you clutched your middle, hissing in sudden pain, and Natalia immediately wrapped an arm around you, gently pulling you back down on the mattress. You hold onto her forearm slightly digging your nails as the pain gets overwhelming.
“It hurts,” you cried out, voice trembling as you did. Natalia held you tighter while softly running her fingers behind your back to try and reduce the sensation. You laid your forehead on her shoulder, inhaling sharply as you contain your tears.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled and you furrowed your eye brows. “For what?” You managed to ask.
She continued to run her fingers on your back as she replies, “That I failed you, I’m sorry for missing out on the signs, I should’ve looked deeper,” she sighed heavily and you shook your head, gathering all your strength to look at her.
You cupped her face on your hands, smiling softly as you did. “It isn’t your fault, Natalia, you didn’t know and it’s okay,” you responded softly.
“That’s the thing, I didn’t know when I should have,” she argues back lightly, looking at you in the eye and you plastered a smirk.
“Don’t beat yourself up with it,” your voice suddenly came out hard, pulling your hands away from her face.
The silence dawned the both of you as you moved away from her, avoiding her eye contact as much as possible, which made Natalia frown, her heart beat picking up as she wondered why you were being cold and guarded up all of a sudden, when minutes ago you were being vulnerable in front of her.
You scoffed, “I’m surprised I still have my head,” you stated sarcastically and Natalia didn’t like it at all.
The pain was now long gone as if it was never there to begin with, that within a few minutes you’re fine. You squint your eyes on the floor before looking at Natalia, a smirk growing on your lips when you saw the confusion written all over her face.
“You think I don’t know?” You asked lowly.
She furrowed her eyebrows, “Know about what?”
You scoffed, “C’mon, Natalia, I’m the queen here you think I’m that dumb?” You questioned back in amusement with a glint of challenge in your voice.
Natalia’s brain momentarily stopped, as she watched you in utter guilt as if you announced something she didn’t expect, which to mention that you did.
You click your tongue three times, slightly shaking your head as if mocking her. “You’re only a heiress, I’m a Queen,” the way you spoke the words made her feel so small, she was like a slave that did not know what to do other than to be laid with random men, you made her feel so powerless causing her blood runs low but boiling.
Her eyes hardened, “A queen is nothing. It’s just a fancy word for a wife,” she retorted, but your smile never faltered as you let her mirror yours.
“You wouldn’t be anything if it wasn’t for your shitty legacy,” you replied, rather calmly as you watched her jaw clench. “I must go, nice talking to you, your majesty.” You stood up and left.
And from that moment on you knew that you caused a pain like a dagger shoved deeply in her chest, letting it bleed like never before. . . yet something twitched inside of you.
