It was a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon. Harry and Lilliana were sitting in their usual spot on the garden bench.  Lilliana seemed particularly tense that day. 'I wonder what's wrong with her.' Harry thought.

Suddenly Lilliana said "Harry, I consider you as my best friend. We have gotten so close over a short time, and you have told me so much about yourself. But I haven't told you something.  I think now is the right time to tell you.  I know this will shock you. But please don't let this thing that I will tell you get between us. Please."

"Of course, Lilliana. I understand, and I promise I won't let anything like that happen." Harry said, a little nervous. What could be so important that's making Lilliana so scared?

"Okay Harry, thank you. Now please listen to me. Do you remember all the things I have told you about my father? How amazing he is, how much he loves me? Well I think it is time that I let you know who my father is. Harry, my father is Severus Snape." Lilliana said, cringing.

Harry was speechless. What did he just hear? Was Lilliana being serious? How can this sweet girl be the cold, sarcastic potion master's daughter? But now that he found out, he realized why her onyx eyes looked familiar to him. She had her father's eyes. But... Lilliana's last names was Mead.. not Snape. How can that be?

Harry fought his urge to run away to think alone. But he stayed, and asked her what was on his mind.

"Wow, Lilliana, I'm pretty speechless. But don't worry, that's okay. There's no way that I could let something like that between us. Our friendship is too strong for me to just throw it away because of that reason. But I have a question... your name is Lilliana Mead, not Lilliana Snape? How is that?" Harry asked.

"Well, my father wants to keep the fact that I'm his daughter a secret to protect me from prying eyes and the media. He would rather have a private life. The Daily Prophet would go crazy if they found out my father actually has a daughter. And when I was born, my father was a spy for Voldemort, and he wanted to protect me back then too. If Voldemort found out he had a daughter he would use that against my father. Therefore I inherited my mother's last name." Lilliana answered.

"Okay Lilliana, thank you for sharing this information with me, it really does mean a lot to me that you trust me." Harry smiled, finally getting over his shock. He still saw Lilliana as herself not some monster.

"No Harry, thank you. You accepted me for who I am, regardless of who my father is. That means the world to me, thank you." Lilliana said, with tears in her eyes.

Harry noticed this and gave her a hug. They stayed like that for a long time. It wasn't an attraction, they were more like brother and sister. Harry gave her a kiss on the cheek and said:

"We better go, Lilliana. Let's go eat dinner. We can talk more tomorrow in Potions."

"Okay Harry, let's go." Lilliana answered.

They walked up to the castle together and once again parted ways in the Great Hall. Harry went over to the Gryffindor table and sat with Neville, Dean, and Seamus. Lillian sat alone, not wanting to mingle with Malfoy and his gang. He looked up to the staff table and noticed Professor Snape watching Lilliana, making sure she was okay. Harry smiled at that. Dinner was good, and Harry felt full as he went up to his dorm. He fell asleep thinking of the day up ahead of him and the Potions class.
