Harry woke up the next morning feeling rested. He remembered yesterday's conversation with Lilliana and smiled. He felt amazing knowing that Lilliana trusted him to the extent that she would tell him such a private secret that no one else knew. He got up out of bed, took a shower, and dressed, getting ready for the day's classes. The first class of the day is Potions, Harry thought almost happily. This was a change. He didn't see Snape as such a monster anymore. By what Lilliana said, the professor really did care about her and loved her. This changed Harry's perspective on the Potions Master. As he was walking to the dungeons, he met up with Lilliana and they walked to class together. They followed their usual routine of taking their things out and getting ready.

Professor Snape slammed the door again as he entered, starting Harry a little bit. It was obvious that Lilliana was trying to surpress a giggle.

"Today's potion will not be as challenging. Therefore, I shall let you pick your own partners. Try not to fail too badly." Snape said with a sneer.

The professor flicked his wand at the board and the instructions appeared again. Lilliana and Harry went to get the specific ingredients and when they came back, they set all of them down on the work station and got to work. Lilliana seemed an expert at this. Harry realized she must have inherited her father's abilities. He watched as she added dragon blood and stirred five times clockwise. As he was watching, he saw the professor coming over to them.

"Ah, Potter and Mead again. What a nice surprise." Snape said with a smirk

Harry could feel Snape inspecting their dark blue potion with his eyes. The professor said nothing and walked away. Harry knew this was a good sign. They had done well. At the end of class, he noticed that Malfoy's potion was a weird shade of grey while their potion had turned a deep shade of red, almost maroon.

"Potter, Mead, stay in after class. I wish to speak to you."

Harry and Lilliana nodded, startled and said "Yes, sir." in unison.

After everyone else left, they stood awkwardly in front of Snape's desk. When she was sure that they were safe, Lilliana walked over to Snape and gave him a hug. Snape looked downright shocked.

"Miss Mead, what exactly are you doing?" Snape asked as he was trying to push her away. Lilliana merely smiled.

'It's okay Dad, he knows." Lilliana answered.

"He knows? LILLIANA!!!!! What got into you? Why would you tell Potter? You know it's supposed to be a secret!" But even as he said this, Snape relaxed in Lilliana's arms and hugged her back reluctantly.

"Dad, Harry is my best friend. He has told me things that he has never told anyone else. We trust each other completely. It would seem only fair to tell him."

"And Potter's still friends with you after you told him that you're the detested Potions Professor's daughter?" Snape asked incredulously.

"Yes, Professor, I have stayed friends with her. It does not matter to me who her father is. Besides, I don't have any more hard feelings towards you, sir. Especially after I learned the things that I have." Harry answered honestly, referring to the fact that he learned Professor Snape was s spy for Dumbledore that had protected him all along for his mother's sake.

"Ah, I see, Potter." Snape stated coldly "Now to get back to the reason I told you to stay after class, I have noticed an improvement in you Potter, I would have never expected that your brain finally accepted the complex concept of Potions"

" Thank you, I have been studying hard Professor, I truly wish to become better." Harry answered.

Snape said nothing, which Harry guessed might be a good sign. Harry excused himself from the room and went to his next class, astonished. Professor Snape never complimented him. He felt proud, knowing that he had done something right.
