A furry paw popped out of the bush and it slowly led to a tall bear with snarling sharp teeth. This is bad.
The bear stood tall and high, eyeing me up and down to see where I was vulnerable. My sword was tightly gripped in front of me as my feet slowly started taking steps backwards, preparing to get a headstart if I needed to run. The big, brown bear growled and snarled, showing its fierce flesh-eating teeth at me.
There was no way I could outrun this bear, I must fight head on if I wanted to survive.
The monstrous bear went to all fours and started running towards me, its mouth opening wide ready to strike. As it neared closer, my hands instinctly slashed my sword in the front, aiming towards its expanding chest. The bear growled even harder, almost howling. My feet quickly pounced away as its claws viciously came at me, only barely scratching my arm. It was too big, there was no way I could beat him on my own.
"Need some help? Or should I stay and watch?" said a familiar voice.
Not turning around, the bear came charging again, this time, even more strongly. It aimed for my face, only missing it by a few centimeters.
SWOOSH
The bear howled in pain and started to back up. An arrow was in his chest.
"So should I sit back!" The voice yelled.
I turned back and couldn't find where the voice came from. I decided to ignore it as I quickly turned my attention back to the beast. His howls got stronger and he eyes were more fierce than before. He has reached his violent stage.
The beast charged at me.
30 feet.
20 feet. Attack stance.
15. Tightly gripped sword.
10.
5. Swi-
SWOOSH
SWOOSH
In an instant, the howling beast fled into the dark, dense forest, leaving behind a trail of dark, red blood on the thin, green grass.
I quickly turned around and looked into the trees where the arrows came from. There she was, smiling brightly as always.
"Hello again," she said happily as she hopped off the tree.
"Where did you come from?" I asked tryng to catch my breath.
"I just happend to be around, and heard a cry for help," she said as she smiled innocently, slowly turning to the where the bear fled, "Damn it... now I need to make extra arrows."
"As if! There wasn't any cry for help," I scoffed as I looked away.
She laughed and patted my back, "There, there. Let me see your injuries."
Before I could say anything, she snatched my hand and looked over my arms. I looked at her intently as her eyes looked over every detail, not missing a single spot. She let go of my arms and started looking into a small snatchel and took out a small bottle that contained a dark blue liquid.
"This might hurt your delicate skin," she said as she looked up at me.
"I'm not a wimp, it won't hurt me," how dare she think I'm weak?
A soft chuckle left her lips as she looked back at my arm, "If you say so."
A small drop escaped the bottle onto the cut. Nothing happened.
"See, I told you it wou- AHHHHHHH CRAP" I yelled in pain as I felt the liquid slowly seep into my skin. My hand involuntarily clenched my elbow to try and prevent the pain. The girl quickly looked away so I wouldn't see her laughing.
After a minute, the pain left my arm and a cool sensation swept over my body, sending chills down my spine.
She looked up at me and bursted out into laughter, "I told you it would hurt!!"
I just decided to bite my lip hard and look away.
"There we go, all better! I'm going to get going now," the girl said as she got up to leave after a few minutes.
I quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her close to me, our faces a few centimeters apart. My heart skipped a beat as her big brown eyes looked up at me. Time stopped... everything was quiet. It was peaceful...
"Y-yes?" She asked as she quickly pulled away.
"I uh... I just need your help," Help? What help do I need?
"Help with what?" She said as her head slightly turned to me.
"With uh... uhm..." think! "uhh... finding Jean!"
"Oh... I'll help," she happily said, "Let me just get my arrows and stuff together because now I'll be your knight in shining armor."
