Abby and I got back to the room and we both fell asleep right away. That night I did not dream of anything, which made the night go by quicker because the next thing I knew my alarm was blaring in my ear and I woke up to see 7:30 flashing on the clock. I turned over to see Abby sitting up in her bed on her laptop. She was wearing a blue shirt that zipped up in the back and was lower in the back than in the front, and I knew that because I was with her when she bought that shirt, with skinny jeans and black flats. Her hair was curly and she did her make up a bit. In the end she looked flawless, but of course she always did.
“How long have you been up?” I asked, she looked over at me and smiled “I have been up since 6.” Then she looked back at her computer. 6? Geez, but of course she was always got up before me.
I got up and went to the bathroom, took a shower, did my hair and makeup then went out to the room to grab some clothes. My mom was gone when I woke up and when I came out she was sitting at the desk looking at some website for what looked like a dining hall or something. I went to my suit case and flipped it open, then I heard my mom say “So I heard that a couple of boys are coming to the room at 9.” I froze remembering that I told Jack and Finn to come to the room at 9 o’clock. I looked at the clock and it flashed 8:30 then I turned around to face my mom who was still looking at the screen, “Yeah, well they are big fans so they asked to meet you and I know you’re busy so I decided to have them come this morning.” I answered then turned around rummaging through my suit case to find something cute. “I heard it was Jack and Finn.” She said and I could hear the smile on her face. I turned around and examined her face, this time she was looking at me, “Did you know they were staying at this hotel?” I asked suspiciously. “Actually I did not know.” She answered turning back to her laptop.
I knew when my mother was lying because her voice changed and I could tell that she wasn’t, her voice didn’t drop an octave or anything so we were good. I grabbed my clothes and ran to the bathroom, I decided to wear a black silky button up shirt with red skinny jeans with leopard print flats and a leopard print scarf. I walked out of the bathroom and looked at the time, it was only 8:40 and I heard my stomach growl. I wanted to wait for the boys but I was so hungry, and I am not very nice when I am hungry.
“Hey Abby, do you think we will have time to run down to the lobby to grab breakfast quick?” I asked looking at the clock then at her. She looked at the clock then down at her stomach. I could tell by that, that she was hungry also. We looked at my mom and she was still on the computer and she said “Go, you should be back in time.” And with that we ran out the door to the elevator, and when I say ran, I mean it. We dashed down the hall to the elevator. When the door opened we rushed in pressing the 1 button and the doors closed. The trip down felt like it took forever, but when I looked at my phone it was only 8:43. The doors opened and when we tried to run out we ran into a couple of people. I heard them swear under their breath as we passed them, I rolled my eyes and went straight for the breakfast buffet. When we got to the dining hall I stopped and stared. I have never seen so much food in one place in my life. Here is the thing, I love food! Like, you don’t understand, if it wasn’t for Abby making me workout with her all the time I would probably be a whale. But truthful I wouldn’t mind because I would be a very happy whale. Rather die with a stomach full of food and big rather than no food in my stomach and skinny. End of story.
I turned around to look at Abby and she just looked at me with the ‘you are not eating everything here’ look. I saw that look a lot, I turned around and went to the muffins. I grabbed a banana nut muffin and an orange juice while Abby grabbed a blueberry muffin and an apple juice. We quickly ran out of the dining hall to the elevator. I looked up to see it stopped at floor 15, I groaned as I pressed the up arrow. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time. It was 8:50. I was about to just run up the stairs when the elevator doors opened. Abby and I got in and hit the 5 button and the doors closed. Abby was getting impatient, I could tell because she was getting super fidgety. She couldn’t stay still and neither could I, we were both nervous and we just wanted to get to the room. When the door finally opened we started walking to our room, we both had a mouthful of muffin while trying to open our juices. We were about to reach the door when I heard someone say “Well look who we ran into.” We both froze in place and looked at each other. We both had muffin in our mouths and crumbs on our lips. At the same time we both rub each other faces clean. We swallowed the muffin and turned around. Jack and Finn were almost in front of us and they were smiling. I could have died right there. Jack’s smile was amazing. When he got to us I looked down at my juice, I could feel myself blushing and I tried to shrug it off. After all I was only ‘Charlene’s daughter’ I snapped out of it and got serious.
“Alright, ready to meet my mom.” I said looking up at him into his beautiful green eyes. Ugh, I could have melted and I would not have cared.
“Yeah.” He said, he looked at Finn who was looking at Abby. I looked over at Abby who looked like she was about to faint. I entwined my arm in hers and turned her around making her snap out of her trance. She looked at me and smiled this huge smile, it reminded me of when she was 8, she would always smile that smile when she got what she wanted, and she did. She met Finn, and I met Jack, but I wasn’t that happy about it because it seemed like he only liked me for my mother. We got to my hotel room and I realized I forgot my key. I knocked on the door and waited. No answer. Alright then, thanks mom. I pulled out my phone and called her. The phone was ringing when I heard her pick up “Hey, where are you. I think they are here.” She said sounding a bit amused. I wanted to yell “Yeah mom they are and you want to know how I know that, because we are out here with them! Now let us in so I can breathe again.” But I did not say that, instead I said “Yeah I know, we are out here also. Can you please let us in, I forgot my room key.”
I heard her giggle a bit, “Oh, yeah, sure.” Then I hung up and she opened the door. Abby and I walked in but before I could make it around her she pulled me into a hug and whispered “Abby also told me about the whole thing with him asking you if you were my daughter. I’m sorry baby girl.” She squeezed me and I could feel the tears well up in my eyes. My mom knew that was one of the reasons why guys liked me and it hurt her because it hurt me. I walked over to my bed and sat down taking a drink of my orange juice. I looked over at Abby who was giving me a sympathetic look. She knew I didn’t like telling my mom about that but I guess Abby felt like it was a good idea. In the end, I could have cared less.
“Hello, my name is Jack and this is my twin brother Finn.” Jack said with a huge smile on his face. My mother shook their hands and gave them a nice smile. I saw Finn still staring at Abby but she wasn’t paying attention. She was sitting on the bed next to me playing on her iPhone. I pulled mine out a texted back the few people that texted me yesterday and started playing temple run, I love this game because I can sit here for hours playing it and still not be bored. 15 minutes passed when I heard my mom say my name. I looked up for a second and they weren’t staring at me so I looked back but when I did I ran into a tree. I could have literally kicked myself. This was the 9th time I died. I locked my phone and put it down but then I picked it back up again and started a new round. I was about to die again when a hand covered my screen. Well I was defiantly dead now. Great. I looked up to see my mom standing above me and she was smiling a sweet smile, a smile that read something was going to happen. I stood up and tapped Abby on the shoulder, she looked up and put her phone away. Finn and Jack were standing by the door staring at us like they were waiting for us. “They will meet you outside boys.” She said and they walked out before Jack smiled at me. By the time they were out the door Abby was by my side waiting for an explanation with me. “What is going on mom?” I asked trying to figure this all out, why are they waiting out there and where were we going? Where they showing us to a donut shop or something like what is going on? I am so confused. “Well when you two were over here on your phones they asked what you two were doing today and I said touring around London and they asked if they could show you around. I said sure and so they are waiting to show you two around.” I thought I was going to faint, they wanted to take us, together, with each other, out around London. I had to be dreaming. I looked at Abby and she looked like she was about to jump out of the window. “Alexis do you know what this means, we can finally trick them into marrying us.” My mouth shot open, “Yes!” I said jumping a bit, “We can seduce them with our awkwardness and great conversations, that will hook them.” I said and we busted out laughing. My mom just stood there watching us being us. When we finally calmed down we both went to put our shoes on and grab our purses. We were about to walk out the door when my mom said “I don’t know girls, I think they might actually like you.” We looked at each other and both started laughing really hard, so hard in fact that it hurt my stomach to laugh and I was almost crying. Finn like Abby, yeah that is possible, Jack like me, not so much. Cute mom, cute. Thanks.
When we opened the door we were both still laughing and Jack and Finn were standing outside the door, when we looked at them, we started laughing again. They looked really confused but we couldn’t even talk so we decided to just start walking to the elevator. We finally stopped laughing and could look at them without laughing. When we got into the elevator Finn stood next to Abby and Jack next to me. “Alright girls are you ready to see London?” Jack asked and we both shook our heads yes and the adventure began.
