Alexis POV:
I looked over at the clock, 9:30 and my mom still wasn’t back. It had been an hour since Abby and I were on the floor dying of laughter. I looked over at Abby and Finn and saw they were sleeping. Abby was lying on Finn’s chest and Finn had his head on hers. They looked so cute together. I got up and walked over to the mini fridge and opened it up. It was full of stuff but not the stuff I wanted. I bit my lip and turned around meeting Jack’s gaze. Abby and Finn were lying on her bed and Jack and I were sitting on my mom’s bed watching ‘The Avengers’ but I am bored with the movie and I want something to snack on. Oh wait, my mom left me her credit card. As a small smile played on my lips I heard Jack ask “Are you okay?” He got up and walked over to me and searched my face.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Um are you hungry?” I asked biting my lip again.
“Yeah a bit” He answered looking at my lips. I felt my face turn red and I looked down. He lifted my chin with his hand and made me look him in the eyes. His face started getting closer to mine and all I could think was ‘This is it, you are going to be kissed by the sexiest man alive’ but then my phone started going off. I wanted to ignore it but it was my mom. The song “We Don’t Eat” By James Vincent McMorrow was playing and that was her ring tone. I quickly grabbed my phone that was next to me on the desk and answered it, “Hey mom.” I sounded a bit annoyed and I was. He was about to kiss me and she ruined it.
“Hey baby girl, are you okay?” She asked sounding concerned.
“Yeah, I am fine.” I said sitting my butt down on the bed behind me. She knew I was lying but she blew it off because she knew it was about Jack and I wasn’t going to explain it to her with him in the room.
“Alright, well turns out I am going to be a bit late, so the boys can they can stay until I come back if they want.” She said and I heard someone laughing in the background.
“Yeah, I will ask them. Give me a minute. I put my phone down on my leg and looked up at Jack who also looked a bit annoyed, “Um my mom said she isn’t going to be here until late, she said if you guys want you can stay until she gets back.” He better say yes, I swear if he doesn’t I will scream.
“Yeah sure, we will stay.” He answered with his amazing smile and I felt my cheeks turn red. I picked my phone back up, “Yeah mom they will stay.”
“Awesome, I will see you when I get back. Call me if you need me.” She said right before she hung up. She was probably at some bar with those people she went out to dinner with. Go figures. I stood up and grabbed my mom’s credit card and the room key and started walking to the door.
“Where are you going?” Jack asked.
“To get a bite to eat, are you coming?” I asked as I was walking out the door. At first I thought he wasn’t going to come but then I heard footsteps behind me.
“So where are we going to eat?” He asked grabbing a hold of my hand in his. My stomach exploded with butterflies and I swear I was shaking but I don’t think he noticed.
“There is a little café next to the lobby downstairs that is open late.” I answered pressing the elevator button. The ride down was silent. We were still holding hands and my mind was running wild. Was he going to kiss me before? Or was he just smelling my breath? I am not sure but I can’t get that out of my head. I heard DING and the door opened. We walked out and I guided him to the café. When we walked in we were hit with the scent of coffee and cookies. I walked over to the counter with Jack still at my side and looked at the menu. I decided to just get a blueberry smoothie and a sugar cookie. I went up and ordered then Jack ordered the same thing. We got out stuff right away and sat down in the lounge chairs in the back of the café. The two of us sat there drinking our smoothies and eating our cookies whilst I was looking at the different paintings on the wall. There was a picture that I have seen many times before. It was the picture of the 11 men sitting on the big bar above Chicago. As I looked upon that picture I thought about how cool it would be to be sitting there. The fact that they didn’t seem scared at all was amazing to me. I finally tore my gaze away from the picture when I felt someone staring at me. I looked over at Jack and he was giving me this look of… compassion, if that is even the right word. I looked behind me to make sure he wasn’t looking at anyone else then back at him. I almost pointed at myself but then he started moving closer to me. I didn’t know what to do but for some reason I was moving closer to him. This is it, he is going to kiss me, or check my breath but I don’t think so, I think he is going to kiss me. Our lips were about to meet when I heard “Excuse me we are about to close.” I heard Jack sigh and I let my head fall where it was. Everyone has to ruin everything of course. I looked up at the girl and she was eyeing me. Alright? I looked at Jack who was looking at me and nodded my head towards the door. As soon as we left the café Jack started laughing. I didn’t get what was so funny, “What are you laughing at?” I asked looking at him.
“That girl in there got a picture with me yesterday afternoon. She told me how much she loves Finn and me then she happened to catch us almost kissing.” He explained. So he was going to kiss me! I felt my cheeks flush and I looked down smiling. When we got in the elevator I let my back rest on the wall of the elevator. I was looking up at the numbers when I felt Jack wrap is arm around my waist and turn me towards him. We were facing each other and I could feel his hot breath in my skin. I heard the door open then I heard “There you two are. We have been looking every-“ then Abby was cut off by the elevator door closing again. I looked up at Jack, “No more interruptions.” Then he kissed me. The kiss was amazing. As our lips moved together I felt Jack pull me closer to him and I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him closer to me. The kiss was passionate and slow. When we heard the door open again we kept kissing until we heard it close again. I felt Jack remove one of his hands from my back and push a button then put his hand back where it was. When I heard the door open again I heard “Well th-“ Then laughter, and a lot of it might I add. Jack and I pulled away together to see Abby laughing really hard and Finn smiling at Jack. I felt my face turn red and I couldn’t help but to bite my lip. When we walked out of the elevator Abby grabbed my hand and walked me towards the room. Well it was more like running because we were walking so dang fast. When we got to the door she opened it and put something in the door so it would stay open for the boys. When she turned around she gave a little shriek and pulled me into a big hug. We were jumping up and down when the door opened. We both stopped and looked down to our feet giggling. I heard Finn and Jack both laugh a little then I felt someone grab my hand. When I looked up I saw Jack standing in front of me, and Finn in front of Abby. At the same time they both kissed us and we kissed them back. It was amazing. But it was shortly cut off by the sound of the door being unlocked. Abby and I both pushed the boys away just in time for my mom to walk in. We were all standing there awkwardly as she stared at us. “Did I interrupt something?”
“No mom, it is fine.” I said plopping down on the bed.
“Alright then.” She said as she headed into the bathroom with her pjs in her hand. I looked over at Abby, Jack and Finn. Abby stared at me with an expression of relief and Jack and Finn were staring at each other like they were talking to each other through stares. It was weird, I was about to say something when they both looked back at us. “What are you girls doing tomorrow?” Finn asked. I looked at Abby and thought about it.
“When are we going with your mom on the talk show?” Abby asked me.
“Not until Thursday.” I answered back, “I don’t think there is anything going on tomorrow besides meetings and stuff.” I told Abby.
“Well looks like we are not doing anything tomorrow.” Abby told Finn and Jack.
“Alright, well you girls are spending the day with us, alright?” Finn said. Abby and I both smiled and shook our heads yes.
“Alright, be ready by 6.” Jack said walking to the door with Finn.
“In the morning?” I asked hoping they did not mean that early “Yup, in the morning.” Jack answered winking at me. I collapsed on my bed and an “ARGHHH” escaped my mouth. I heard footsteps come towards me and I was flipped on my back. I was met with Jack and boy he was close to me. I looked around the room to see Abby and Finn nowhere to be seen. I looked back at Jack and was about to ask where they went when he kissed me again. It was a quick one but it was amazing. When he pulled away I could feel the kiss still tingling on my lips. I got up and was standing in front of him and I gave him a hug. He smelled so amazing, I could stay like that forever. But just then I heard the bathroom door open and we both stepped back from each other and I tripped and fell over my bed. I was on the floor in front of my bed and I could not stop laughing. My mom rushed over to me making sure I was okay but when I wouldn’t stop laughing she sat next to me and I saw her roll her eyes, “You, my child, are a special one.”
“Well I am your child after all.” I said as I continued to laugh. I finally got up and walked Jack to the door. He gave me a kiss on the check and said “See you at 6.” Then he left and I was standing there like an idiot. A very happy idiot.
