"Good morning," Josephine murmured, turning the sausage in the pan.

"Hey." Titus sidled past her.

They were both trying to ignore the burning pain that was searing through them. Between the years that had passed since their daughter's disappearance and the present, they felt their love balancing unsteadily on the fine line between falling apart and staying where they were.

Like love had flown out to a distant sea neither of them knew how to get to.

"Did you talk to Liam yesterday?" Titus cleared his throat.

"No. You?" Josephine asked.
