She was the girl who always tried
She did what she could, but sometimes had to lie
She was put on this world simply to help
So rarely did she ever think of herself
It was hard, but she tried her best
Making sure each one of her friends didn't feel like a pest
And she never wanted them to see her tears
For that was one of her deepest fears
Because the people she loved were broken inside
All they wanted to do was run and hide
So she reached out a hand and helped each one
Sometimes it was easier said than done
And never did she ask for something back
She figured she should cut them some slack
For they were the ones who were truly sad
No matter how many times she felt bad
She never told them about her demons
That never went away, even with the change of the season
So maybe that's why she played such a part
Because she didn't want them to have such sadness in their hearts
But all of her helping was not in vain
Because she helped so many others with their pain
And that was the reason she got up everyday
So that she help them all in every way
So when you see that girl, please give her a smile
She will need one once in awhile
Just to keep her going in all she can do
Because you would need one if you were her too.
