"We have to find her!" I slam my hand on the table. It's been three days and the love of my life is not here. She is not in my arms. I sigh and run a hand through my hair

"We will find her, man, but you need to take a breath," Mateo tells me. My dining room became the investigation hub. The police, of course, said after 48 hours, that there's no hope, and it's been three freaking days.

I may or may not have said some unpleasant words to them or called them incompetent, so I hired my own team and started my own investigation.

That doesn't say my patience isn't running thin. I need her. Taylor was nowhere to be found. He vanished off the face of the earth with my girl.

"Did Sofia ever take you to a special place? A place no one knew about. Maybe Brandon knew and took her there," my lead detective says.

The words make me stand. All eyes in the room find mine. "I think I know where she is," I say. I gave them the coordinates.

Sofia always liked the forest. Two months into our relationship, she took me to a secret cabin. Her father built it for her when they were kids. It was literally in the middle of nowhere.

"Got it." Finally.

"Let's go," I grab my jacket.

"Wait!" I turn to see Gia running towards me. "I'm coming too," she says, looking me dead in my eyes. She misses her best friend. I have no doubt she can hold her own, but this is Taylor. He can do unspeakable things.

"Gia, I don't think–," the glare she gives me cuts me off. I sigh and reluctantly agree. Never deny a woman who gives you a glare like that. I look to Mateo. "Stay with her. Do not leave her side," he nods firmly and wraps an arm around her waist.

I walk to my desk and unlock the bottom drawer. Inside was a gun. The one my father owned in case of emergency. I check to make sure it's loaded and ready to go.

Being the smart man he was, taught me how to protect myself. He taught me to fight and use a gun. I have impeccable aim and a mean punch if I do say so myself.

"This should be it," we spot the old cabin. The area completely lacked civilization. Just a green canopy. I'm coming, baby. My team opens the door and looks for any traps.

When it's safe to go in, we scan the hall, the kitchen and bedrooms. Nothing. Where are they?

"Shut up!" the voice makes everyone freeze. A few seconds later, we hear clothing rip.

"It's coming from down here," an officer tells us. We found a door that was blended into the wall. It was slightly open.

Gia and Mateo are hot on my heels. We hear heavy breathing coming from behind the door. No.
