Me: I miss you :(

Cleo: you just saw me this morning dude

Me: what's your point??

Cleo: don't you have work to do?

I love her attitude.

Me: won't have that attitude when you see me tonight...

Cleo: counting on it baby ; ) i gtg. Uncle Fabian needs me. I love you.

Me: I love you too, princess. Tell Fabian I said hello

Cleo: Will do <3

I place my phone on the table. I love you. That weekend with Cleo was amazing. It still feels unreal. I'm in love. We're in love!

That fact was the only thing getting me through this tiring day. I had five different meetings in three hours. February was coming quick and there was still a lot to be done.

I wish my father was here. The both of us would steer everything to victory. We were a team, a good one. Always knowing what the other needed. When he died, it felt like a piece of me died too. That hole he left in my heart will always be there, but Cleo makes my life worth living again. After his death, I went through every day just desperately wanting to go to sleep. She brought happiness back to me. A love like the one my parents had, the one I thought I would never have, is mine. She's mine and I am undoubtedly hers.

She's my soulmate, my peace, my anchor in this vicious sea we call life. Losing her is not an option, so I'm working around the clock to protect her and make amends with Brandon. I hired men to watch her and follow her around the clock.

The door opens. I look up at the intrusion to see Brandon walk into my office.

"Taylor," I curtly said. "What is the meaning of this?"

"I just came to see where you are in your decision. Time is ticking, boy."

Boy? "I am not shutting down my line because of your personal vendetta. Try again," my jaw ticked.

A smug smirk grew on his face. "The hard way? Really?" Where is Clara? I will harm this man if he doesn't get out of my face. "I'll give you some more time, Moretti. You look conflicted," he smirks.

Conflicted between breaking his neck or letting him live, yeah.

"Your girl is a pretty one. Cleo, right?"

My blood boils. My legs have a mind of their own as they storm over to him. I get a deadly grip on his collar. "Don't touch her. You do not lay a finger on her or I will personally blow your brains out," I threaten him. Brandon just looks at me with humour. I push him back, releasing him.

He laughs. What's so funny?

"You are so stupid, it's amusing at this point," his laugh makes my hands twitch. "You have til the end of the month, Moretti," he says as he sobers. He leaves me fuming and wanting to throw something.

What the hell was so funny?

The frustration makes me snap. I can't take this. I knock everything off my desk with a swift hand. I throw the vase at the wall. I can't control it.

I wasn't even worried about my company, right now. He threatened Cleo!

My arms flip the desk over. "Cazzo!" I grip my bicep in pain. That desk is heavy than I thought. I hear an intake of breath. Please no.

I turn around, agonizingly slow. My eyes land on Mateo. Oh thank God!

"Woah," is all he says before closing the door and locking it. "Now I know why Taylor was whistling when he left the elevator," I glare at him.

"He threatened Cleo."

"And I take it you didn't tell her." It's not even a question. He knows me. "Man, you have to tell her."

I sit on the sofa, "I told her what she needs to know. I'm protecting her."

He gives me a blank stare. "Dude, if she can date you, she can more than protect herself if anything happens," he smirks.

He gets me to crack a smirk. I'm slightly offended, but he's right. That girl has more balls than me sometimes. Just look at her best friend. Mateo puts everything back in order quietly.

He's been distant lately. I can't put my finger on it. I tried asking, but he brushed me off. My guess is a woman or something that happened in his past. "We will figure this out," he sits next to me with a hand on my shoulder. "Cleo won't get hurt, I promise."

I nod even though my blood can't stop boiling. I just want her.

"You going to the wedding?" I told him about Luca's wedding next month.

"Yeah, Cleo is his sister." Luca and Mateo met when Fabian was going through a tough divorce. Luca only wanted the best for his father, which he got because my best friend is the best at what he does. Their work relationship grew into a friendship.

"Wanna match?" he nudges my shoulder with a smile on his face. I chuckle and shake my head. Only this man knows how to make me smile.
