After a long week at work, it was finally Saturday, and the day of the Rag 'N' Bone Man gig. Dan had rung me earlier to check that I was still going, but from the looks of it he hadn't turned up yet. I was waiting outside the venue when Kyle and Janna walked up. I hadn't met them before so i didn't really have a clue what to say to them. As they approached i said, "Has Dan been in touch with you yet?"

Kyle replied, "Yeah, he said he was running a bit late, which i thought was quite strange, and he said to make sure you're okay and to try to act normal because he doesn't want use to scare you off.

Janna just looked at him for a moment as if to say 'you weren't supposed to say that last bit Kyle', before saying, "Hi I'm Janna, and its India isn't it.

I nodded, "It's nice to meet you, i didn't mean for that to sound posh, because I'm really not posh at all", and I kind of just blurted out. It made them laugh a bit.

"Oh here he is! You are late Dan, you said meet here at half past and it is twenty to, you are late!" Kyle said to him as he was walking towards us.

"Yeah sorry about that, I was trying to find the tickets", he said, "I think we should go in"

We were sat in one of the higher balconies but we still had a really good view and the gig was amazing.

We got outside and Janna said, "We were thinking of going out now you two should come with us?"

I looked at Dan and he said, "Yeah, sounds great"

We had decided to walk to the first pub as it wasn't too far away.

"Did you enjoy the gig then?" Dan said to me as we were walking.

"Yeah it was amazing; his voice is just so incredible"

"I didn't really get a chance to talk to you before, and it was quite loud in there, were you alright waiting with Kyle and Janna at the beginning, because Kyle can be a bit weird you know and I didn't know what he would have said"

"It was fine Dan, stop worrying"

When we got to the pub, we walked straight up to the bar. Dan refused to let me pay for my own drink no matter how much I protested. We all took a seat at a booth in the corner. There was a little folk band playing by the bay window. There was a sign behind them, presumably with their name on it but from my position i couldn't quite read it.

For the rest of the night, we stayed huddled round this table, as none of us quite had the energy to move to another pub and we were enjoying the music. Then Dan just got up and walked outside.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked.

"He normally does that, he's probably thought of a song lyric, drum beat or something music related," Kyle replied.

Then, just as soon as he'd left he re-entered, and he looked so casual as if nothing had happened.

"Right, we've had a great time but I think we should be heading off now," Janna said before she and Kyle made their way out of the pub, leaving just me and Dan.
