Chapter Three

The next morning, Catalina, Delores, and Félix walked outside to see Mirabel and "Delores" talking. Delores raises an eyebrow, Catalina crosses her arms and smirks amused, and Félix says, "Camilo! Stop pretending you're Dolores so you can have seconds."

The "Delores" near Mirabel, morphs back into "Camilo." The House takes his food back and whacks his hand as Camilo exclaims, "Worth a shot. Ah! Ey!"

Catalina chuckles and walks back into Casita to get Valentina and Mateo for breakfast. The real Delores whispers in Mirabel's ear, "The only one worried about the magic is you... and the rats talking in the walls... oh, and Luisa. I heard her eye twitching all night."

A lightbulb goes off in Mirabel's head. She looks over at Luisa, who is carrying a table over with one hand. "There we go," she says as she puts down the table.

But as Mirabel heads for Luisa, Abuela Alma enters. "Everyone to the table. Let's go, let's go" she exclaims agitated.

Mirabel takes Pepa's seat so that she can sit next to Luisa. "Luisa–," she starts

"Family, we are all thankful for Antonio's wonderful new... gift..." Abuela goes to her chair but finds coatis in it.

"I told 'em to warm up your seat." Antonio smiles at Abuela, who manages a smile back.

"Thank you, Toñito. I'm sure today we'll find a way to put your blessings to good use... as must we all, we are the caretakers of this Encanto...

As Abuela continues, Mirabel leans over to Luisa. "Luisa, Dolores says you're freaking out, any chance you maybe know something about last night, with the magic"

Catalina brings three plates of food to the table, one for herself and the other two for her siblings. She sits down at the place in front of Luisa with Valentina on her left and Mateo on her right. 

"You do!" Mirabel pounds the table, excited. Catalina, Valentina, and Mateo look over at the sudden noise, confused. 

"Mirabel." Mirabel looks up, she was busted for talking while Abuela was giving a speech. "If you can't pay attention I will help you."

"Actually, I–"

"Casita?" The house moves Mirabel next to Abuela, away from Luisa. "As I was saying, we must never take our miracle for granted, so today, we will work twice as hard.

"Mhmm, I will help Luisa –" Mirabel stands, trying to go back to Luisa, but Abuela continues. "Stop. First, an announcement. I've spoken to the Guzmans about Mariano's proposal to Isabela. Dolores, do we have a date?"

Dolores tilts her head and listens to the town. "Tonight... He wants five babies."

Isabela nervously sprouts some flowers. Catalina looks at Luisa confused and mouths five.

"Wonderful, such a fine young man with our perfect Isabela," she says as she plucks the imperfect flowers from Isabela's hair, "will bring a new generation of magical blessings and make both of our families stronger."

Camilo morphs into a snarky version of Mariano, "Mmmm. (Makes kissy sounds) Ay!" he exclaims as Isabela swats him with flowers to get him to stop.

"Okay, our community is counting on us, Las Familias Madrigal y Batalla!"

"-- Las Familias Madrigal y Batalla!"

As everyone gets up, Mirabel sees that both Luisa and Catalina are gone. Mirabel heads after Luisa and Catalina and smacks into Isabela, sending petals everywhere.

"What is your problem?!" Isabela exclaims.

"Ugh, sorry" she calls back, "Hey Luisa! Catalina! Hold up!
