📍 Barrier
10:00am

It's been a few weeks since our whole...heist. The kingdom is still weary, but is accepting us again, and Ben and I have been doing good.

But before all of this, there was outrage. Prejudice Auradon citizens were fuming at us for what we did. They wrote letters to the king, and even made signs saying 'back to hell with you all,' meaning VK's. I feel awful about it. Now for us, particularly, but for others. For the kids. For the kids from the isle who have to face the consequences of our actions. Kids like my friend Dizzy, my sister Celia, or the Smee twins. They shouldn't face discrimination and hate because of our mistakes.

To make up for this, we proposed the king and queen with an offer. If we steered clear of trouble for two whole weeks, we get to visit home. They agreed, and we succeeded. Not a single VK caused chaos at all for 14 whole days. This is big, as we rarely, if ever, visit the Isle. It's an unspoken rule that we just aren't allowed to go. So allowing us to visit home for a day is a huge step.

All of Auradon's transfer students are currently in limos lined up at the barrier. We're all ready to go except, you guessed it, Carlos and Jay.

"Guys, hurry up! We're waiting on you!" Evie yells back.

Soon after, they emerge with suitcases packed to the brim.

"It's one day!?" I say to them.

They give my sly and annoying looks as they out their stuff in the back of the limo.

Just before we get in the car, I see Ben pushing through the pool of guards and people watching our departure.

"I love you." He says, giving me a quick hug and kiss.

"I love you." I say back.

We all hop in our limo, the last one, and our doors are closed. We all get comfortable. Jay and Carlos getting candy, Mal taking her shoes off, and Evie and I getting ready to watch the border.

The limo's drive out to the water as we see a enchanting yellow bridge form, our eyes light up. That'll never get old. We drive for a while before arriving on the jagged entrance of the Isle of the Lost.

We immediately smell the scent of sewer, grime, and evil. We see little children running freely and hear shouts. Not to mention the dark and gloom look of the place, thanks to the huge unmissable cloud hovering at all times.

No place like home.

The driver goes a little further into the Isle, and stops in front of our Parents' tower. We all jump out of the limo when we see our parents standing outside. Everyone runs to their parents, Celia and I run to our dad.

"How are my evilest girls?" He asks with a smile on his face.

"Only getting badder." Celia responds, holding her deck of cards up.

We embrace in a tight hug before going inside.

Once inside, we all sit down in the tower. VK's at the tables, parents on the platform. They start asking us questions about Auradon, as they've only ever heard about it through letters. It's honestly screwed up to think we've been at Auradon Prep for almost 3 years and have only visited home once, long ago.

"My baby is becoming a queen soon, you know?" Dad says.

"Really? Isn't he a bit old for you, dear?" Maleficent looks at Celia.

"Not her!" Evil Queen tells her. "Alya!"

"Oh oh!" Maleficent catches on. "That does make more sense." She says, matter of factly,
"Is he rich?"

"He have dogs?" Cruella asks.

"Lamps?" Jafar looks up from scrubbing a dirty lamp of his own.

"Yes, yes and...I don't think so." I say, surprised.

"Dogs and no lamps?" Evil queen says. "What do you see in such a man?"

"Don't tell me you l-" She fake gags. "Don't tell me you love him." She acts disgusted.

"You'd be surprised." Jay cuts in.

"You guys can laugh all you want." Dad cuts in, "My daughter's gonna be a queen!" He proudly boasts.

We continue to tease and catch up on life for the next few hours. We eventually realize that we only have today here, and need to get going.

We all say our goodbyes and give hugs and kisses. I send Celia with Dizzy while the VK's and I visit old friends.

As we walk through the Isle, we're treated like celebrities. Well...for the most part. It's either that or posters calling us traitors, as if we haven't brought more VK's to the Isle than anyone before.

We're passing Ursula's Fish and Chips when we all see the infamous queen of the seas, Uma. She stares us down as we pass. Since we left, we've heard she's taken the place as the leader of the VK's.

"Princess." Uma nods at Mal.

"Shrimpy." Mal nods back.

I can tell by Uma's shift in posture that she was bothered. She never liked the fact that we wouldn't take her to Auradon, but this is exactly why. She's erratic and impulsive.

We continue walking, but end up branching out. Carlos and Jay go to see Diego De Vil, Mal goes to see Hades, and I aimlessly walk through the Isle. I pass old stores and say hi to owners who I used to talk to every night. Honestly, there's more love than anything. In such a shithole of a place, you'd be surprised.

I'm passing the flying rocks stairwell when I get a tap on my shoulder.
