Ch.12

📍Coronation
12:00pm

These past few weeks have been...hectic. Not only have I been battling with the events from the Isle, but we've also been preparing for this very moment. Coronation.

Jane, Fairy Godmother, The king and Queen, and a million other people have been running around with Ben and I for a week to perfect it.

From big things like perfecting his suit to small things like who is seated where. Being new to the royal life, it's safe to say I've wanted to rip my hair out more times than I can count.

But on the bright side, being with Ben all week has opened my eyes. I know we're almost married and should be closer than ever, but this time I felt a different kind of close. I've tested the waters with someone else and it's shown me that no one comes near Ben. Given, I should've known that prior, I have to look on the bright side.

Ben and I are getting seated in our carriage right now. We're being helped onto the platform and sitting in the baby blue sofas inside.

"You look beautiful." Ben says as he takes his seat beside me.

"Well thank you beastly, but today's your day. I'm supposed to be showering you with compliments." I return as the white horses start pulling us along.

Ben laughs before turning the other way and waving. I do the same on my side, my eyes wide with amazement. I've been here for a considerable amount of time, but it still baffles me how many people actually are here for him, and hopefully, for me.

Flowers are thrown and flags are waved as we're pulled to the castle. Ben and I hold hands as we smile wide and wave to the opposite sides.

Eventually, we pull up to the cathedral steps. A guard comes on each side of the carriage and helps us down. Ben, like the gentleman he is, made sure my dress didn't get ruined on the way down before he got down himself. As I'm walking toward the castle entrance with Ben, I see a brown haired boy in the crowd out front that was waiting to sit inside. I immediately do a double take, and my stomach drops when I realize who it is. With that sinister smirk, the one and only Harry Hook was in the crowd.

I quickly turn my head back around and toward the doors, trying to play it off.

Ben looks at me, "You okay? Look like you've seen a ghost." He laughs.

"Oh yea." I gulp. "Just nervous. You know, new to this whole thing."

"You'll be fine, Lia. Just look straight." He reassures. "Or look at me." His cheeks blush as he smirks at me.

A smile grows on my face, remembering why I only want him, and my worries fade. We continue walking through the line of guards in yellow suits and royals behind them.

The king and queen stop and greet us at the steps. After, Ben takes my hand and looks in my eyes.

"Wish me luck." He says.

"You don't need it." I smile.

He smiles and I turn to see a boy in a blue bow tie with his hand out. I grab his hand and he leads me off. Ben turns toward the opening doors.

The boy ushers me to the front row through a side door, where I meet the VK's. Evie squeals in excitement as we take our seat, a row across from the royal parents. Just before I hear the big doors click open, I see him sit behind me. Harry.

I feel his breath on my neck as he dramatically leans forward before taking his seat. I adjust myself, and discretely look over to the VK's. They all give me a 'wtf?' look.

Just as we look at each other, we hear the huge doors open. We all immediately stand up and turn toward the isle. I look down to see my beautiful boy. Hair a little too fluffy, walk a little too stiff, and smile as bright as the sun.

He starts slowly walking down the isle, everyone bowing when he passes them. The choir sings as he holds a gaze with his mother and father on the throne. He finally makes it up to our row. He slightly looks over to me and smiles when I bow upon him.

Ben makes it to the stairs of the throne and kneels before fairy godmother. He takes his pledges gracefully and is crowned king.

The hall erupts in claps and cheers as Ben turns to us, his first time as King. No one has a bigger smile on their face than me. Not his parents, not the VK's, not even King Ben. The man on those stairs is one of the greatest men I've ever met.
